Founded in 1954, the Salisbury Zoo was created when some animals were placed in an exhibition at the City Park. Luckily things were improved and changed to make the current status of the zoo, which is much more habitual to employees and animals alike. The Salisbury Zoo has a mission, they want to enhance the communities’ quality of life through providing a positive atmosphere where educational and recreational opportunities come together.

The zoo had free admission, but does accept donations from those who can afford to! They have a variety of animals ranging from different types of birds, mammals, and reptiles. Just some of the animals you can see here are the Burrowing Owl, Sandhill Crane, Wood Duck, Alpaca, Red Wolf, North American River Otter, Box Turtle, American Alligator, Diamondback Terrapin, and more! Home of the Baltimore Orioles Low-A East affiliate Delmarva Shorebirds, the Arthur W. Perdue Stadium is named after Arthur Perdue, the founder of Perdue Farms. Seating 5,200 fans, this stadium is the second largest seating area in Salisbury, which makes it not just a baseball stadium but a possible venue for other big events as well!
