Canines and Felines Are Just Fine At These Hotels Near Bar Harbor Maine

Hello and welcome to my list on the best pet friendly hotels you can find around the Bar Harbor/Acadia National Park area. There are only so many pet friendly hotels to choose from, but I tried to find you guys the best options for the best prices. And for each of these dog and pet friendly hotels I will give you their address so you can find your way there with ease. And I will also provide you with a link to each hotel’s website so that you can check them out yourself and make sure their pricing and availability is going to work for you. And in addition to all of that, I will also let you know anytime a great location Bar Harbor accepts our convenient digital GiftYa gift cards!

As a reminder a GiftYa digital gift card is pretty much exactly what it sounds like. A gift card that functions just like every other gift card. It lets you make purchases at a participating bar, attraction, or store up to the face value of the gift card. However, unlike traditional gift cards. GiftYa digital gift cards come with a few additional benefits. For instance, unlike a traditional gift card, a GiftYa can be sent straight to your phone in seconds. That way you don’t need to deliver a GiftYa in person if you want to give it as a gift. You don’t even have to go to a store in person if you want one for yourself. You can just visit the GiftYa website and pick one up today.

Since GiftYa cards are sent directly to your phone you never have to worry about misplacing them or forgetting to take them with you. In most instances you are going to have your phone with you so in most instances you will have your GiftYa cards right in your pocket.

Here’s where to grab a quick bite before you head to Acadia.

There are a ton of Dunkin Donuts around Bar Harbor so you can find whichever one is convenient on your route. They make for a great breakfast you can have in the car on the way to the park for a day of hiking, or a quick breakfast before you have to go to the office.

“Great Dunkin coffee. They are super busy, but the line moved along steadily. It took about 10 minutes for us to get our order, with about 12 cars ahead of us. We enjoy their coffee rolls, as well as hot and iced coffee.” - Yelp Review

Subway

A Great Place to Grab A Quick Lunch Near Bar Harbor

Text a Subway gift card

4 Cottage St | Bar Harbor | subway.com

Subway is a great place to grab lunch before you head out hiking or exploring Acadia or just spending a day chilling around Bar Harbor. Not only can you eat fairly healthy getting Subway, I also find that it minimizes the amount of trash you need to worry about when you are out hiking in the national park. Which just makes it all around easier to help keep the parks and the streets clean.

“My husband got a good sandwich, quick and fresh. Staff was friendly. I enjoyed one of their cookies.” - Yelp Review

1 - The Bayview Hotel

Small Dogs Only At This Hotel With Incredible Views

111 Eden St | Bar Harbor | thebayviewbarharbor.com

If the thing that makes or breaks a hotel for you is the view, then The Bayview Hotel is going to be my number one choice of hotel around Acadia for you. The thing is that the hotel is literally built right along the coastline. So not only can you expect excellent service and amazing rooms, you can also expect breathtaking views of the ocean during your entire stay. I mean it’s hard to beat a beach front view of the ocean no matter where you are staying, but if you are trying to stay near Acadia National Park then The Bayview has far and away the most breathtaking views of any hotel in the area!

But on top of the breathtaking views, you are also going to be able to stay here with up to two pets. But unfortunately only small dogs are allowed. So be sure to check with them about what they consider a small dog or not, because unfortunately everybody seems to have a different standard for that.

“Excellent location overlooking Frenchman Bay in Bar Harbor. Rooms face the water.

Efficient, friendly, very informative staff.” - Yelp Review

2 - Atlantic Eyrie Lodge

Breathtaking Views Of the Ocean At This Dog Friendly Hotel

6 Norman Road | Bar Harbor | atlanticeyrielodge.com/

If you couldn’t stay at the Bayview Hotel because your furry friend is too big to meet their definition of a small dog, not to worry. The Atlantic Eyrie Lodge also allows up to two pets at a time with breathtaking ocean views. The only difference is the Atlantic Eyrie Lodge allows you to bring a big dog with you. Which is fantastic if you are looking to take your big shepherd or husky out on the trip to Bar Harbor with you. This way, both you and your dog will have a comfortable place to stay. And while they may not enjoy the ocean views as much as you do, they will certainly appreciate the fresh air. And the nice thing is the Atlantic Eyrie Lodge won’t even break the bank to stay there. It’s only around $140 a night before the pet fee, which is hard to beat in such a busy area. Afterall, Bar Harbor is right next to Acadia National Park, so that’s a great rate all things considered.

“If you are looking for a mid-range hotel in Bar Harbor, this place is a solid option.  The room was clean, quiet and bright, but sparsely furnished. The complimentary breakfast was decent and the price of the room was better than other comparable hotels.” - Yelp Review

3 - Hanscom’s Motel and Cottages

If you are looking for something you can get for a great price, without all the extra frills and accessories that come with an expensive hotel room, then Hanscom’s Motel and Cottages is gonna be a great option for you and your dog. The great thing here is not only do you get the room for an amazing price ($62/night) you are also allowed up to two pets when you are staying here. So if you are a multi dog family, you don’t have to worry about shelling out for one of the more expensive places on the list. Not only does Hanscom’s allow you to have two pets, they are also welcoming and friendly to dogs of all shapes and sizes. So you don’t have to worry about whether or not your dog meets their definition of small when you go to book a room.

“A very good no frills experience for those of us who aren't super picky and mainly just want a nice enough place to sleep at night.  In the off season, you'll be pretty much on your own but that's fine.  It's nice that they accept pets.  Our room was just fine.” - Yelp Review

4 - Holiday Inn Resort

Poolside Bar & Amazing Views At This Pet Friendly Hotel In Bar Harbor

123 Eden Street | Bar Harbor | ihg.com/holidayinnresorts

If you are looking to stay at a place that offers you more of the classic hotel experience then the Holiday Inn Resort in Bar Harbor is going to be just the place for you. The only drawback to this place is that they only allow small dogs. But if that isn’t a problem for you, then you are really going to get plenty of bang for our buck if you stay here next time you are in Bar Harbor. The rooms will run you around $200 a night.

But for the price you get everything that you expect a hotel to offer. But on top of that they also have a fantastic pool with breathtaking views of the ocean. And if that’s not enough to sell you on it, they also have a poolside bar where you can order a nice relaxing cold drink to help you unwind and cool off on a hot summer's day.

“Great location with amazing views. Room was clean, service was good. Pay the extra for an oceanfront room and bring your swimsuit for the heated pool and jacuzzi . Hot tea and coffee always available and a restaurant on site. Poolside bar too” - Yelp Review

5 - Little Fig Hotel

Cozy Hotel A Five Minute Walk From Acadia National Park

109 Cottage Street  | Bar Harbor | in.hotels.com/ho468682

The Little Fig Hotel is a quaint little hotel that you can stay at in Bar Harbor that is conveniently located to just about everything in town. It’s only a couple minutes walk from Acadia's National Park, but it’s also only a ten minute walk from all kinds of restaurants down by the bay itself. And this place is another steal at only $74 a night before any pet fees. And with those pet fees you are allowed to bring up to two pets with you. And even better than that, big dogs are allowed at the Little Fig Hotel. So this is a great place no matter what kind of deal you are looking for in Bar Harbor. As long as you go in knowing this is a small mom and pop place and not some high end chain hotel, then I think you (and your dogs) are more than going to enjoy their stay.

“Really loved this little boutique hotel.  It's newly renovated as of May 2022 so everything was in fabulous condition when we visited 7/2022.” - Yelp Review

Days Inn By Wyndham is another pet friendly hotel around the Bar Harbor area that also won’t break the bank when you need to stay for a night. It’s only $143 a night before the pet fees. But you do get to bring up to two pets, and big dogs are allowed. I’ll be honest, the ratings for this place aren’t the best, but there were only so many dog friendly hotel options in Bar Harbor so it made it onto the list regardless.
