Thirsty Whale makes it to the top of my list of best places to get lobster around Bar Harbor for a couple of reasons. First of all is that they have a fantastic rating with their customers. The next reason is that the Thirsty Whale has a really well balanced menu.  Whether you want a filling lunch or an incredible seafood dinner, the Thirsty Whale is going to be able to provide exactly what you are looking for. Whether you’re looking for a lobster roll, clam chowder, or another New England seafood classic, you’ll be able to find it at the Thirsty Whale! And if somebody in your party isn’t in the mood for lobster, or seafood in general, then don’t worry, they also feature a full lunch and dinner menu with plenty of non-seafood based options to choose from.

Parsons Lobster makes it to number two on my list of great lobster places in Bar Harbor over some of the restaurants that are a little more established for a few reasons. First of all, they have a four star rating with their customers. Which means that even though they are a smaller restaurant than some of the other places on the list, they are still attracting and pleasing a solid amount of customers.

And on top of that, it’s not just that they do a good job, they are also a small friendly family owned business. And as somebody who has worked for plenty of small business owners over the years, I’m always happy to give a shout out to another small business owner. After all, what makes an amazing meal more amazing than knowing the money spent on that meal went to support local businesses and local farmers.

But no matter what you decide to go with for lunch or dinner be sure to try some of their blueberry pie. Seriously positive review after positive review mentioned how out of the world their pie was so be sure to grab a slice to take home with you even if you don’t have room after all the delicious seafood. So The Barnacle isn’t your traditional sit down restaurant, but it isn’t exactly your typical pub either. Instead what you will find is a great hybrid between the two. The fact of the matter is, it’s kind of the nicest pub you could hope to find. It’s quaint and charming, but still has excellent service and wonderful food.

And while I know that this is a list of the places to get the best lobster in Bar Harbor, The Barnacle is famous not just for their amazing lobster options, but also because they apparently have out of this world oysters. I personally wouldn’t know because oysters aren’t really my cup of tea, but for those of you who do enjoy them, apparently The Barnacle has some of the best you can find anywhere.

But more than anything, The Barnacle is going to be a great spot for you to stop if you are hoping for a cold beer and a hot meal. And honestly who doesn’t want that after spending a long day exploring one of our national forests.

The only issue with this place is that it is so popular around the area that sometimes entire tour buses stop off for a meal. So just be sure to make sure they’ll have a table for you.
