If you are looking for a breakfast restaurant in Bar Harbor, Maine then you’ll want to be sure to check out one of the great establishments on my list today. I did my best to try and get as much menu diversity onto the list as I could, but there is only so much I can do when I am focusing on one type of restaurant only. But for each of these amazing breakfast locations the list will include the restaurant's location, a Yelp review, a summary of the restaurant's style, and even a convenient link to the restaurant's website in case you want to order takeout or just want to preview the menu before you go in person. I've even included links where you can get a GiftYa E-Gift Card for each and every one of the participating restaurants.
Virtual GiftYa Cards make the perfect gift for loved ones and for anybody who likes to explore the Bar Harbor or travel. These virtual gift cards can be sent and received within seconds. Usually with a special message inside with well wishes towards a loved one or special friend. The virtual gift cards are as easy to send as an email or a text message and can be purchased for nearly ten thousand different merchants and businesses.
You can personalize the gift message, and send it directly to your recipient’s phone, all within seconds. GiftYa’ digital format provides not only a speedy delivery but also a convenient way to store and maintain different gift card balances. You don’t need to worry about having that particular gift card for that particular establishment on that particular day, as long as you have your phone, GiftYa cards are with you. Check out the list of top breakfast restaurants in Bar Harbor, Maine below, including several that accept GiftYa!
14 Mt Desert St | Bar Harbor | cafethisway.com
Cafe This Way comes in at number one on my list of best breakfast restaurants near Acadia national park for a few reasons. First and foremost, they have a four and half star rating from their customers with nearly 1000 reviews in. Which is unusually consistent. So I know that when I recommend them to you, there is a very small chance you end up there on a day when they aren’t providing excellent service and quality. But I don’t have to worry about any of that with Cafe This Way.
I know that if you go here for breakfast or brunch, they are going to deliver an experience that knocks your socks off. Not only will you get a great meal, you will also get a great price on it. And I think that permeates all the way through the experience at Cafe This Way. There is a really informal and laid back atmosphere with a nice hum of cheerful activity in the background. There really isn’t a better place in Bar Harbor to start your day!
“If you come here and don't order the blueberry pancakes you're doing it wrong. Photos really don't do them justice. Trust me, they're amazing. Staff was welcoming, efficient, and friendly. Hope to come back soon!” - Yelp Review
15 Cottage St | Bar Harbor | jeanniesbreakfast.com
If you are looking to have an amazing breakfast in Bar Harbor, but you really want it to be something special then be sure to check out Jeannie’s Great Maine Breakfast! They claim to be the best breakfast in all of Bar Harbor and their customers certainly seem to agree! They boast a four star rating with well over 500 individual reviews listed.
But with any restaurant that is so popular at a certain time of day, be sure to call ahead and get a reservation, because otherwise the wait can be pretty long. And there’s really no worse way to start the day than to have everybody in your party getting hangry while they are waiting to just get a table to order food.
“Went here 2 days in a row while in Bar Harbor. Cool place that makes you feel like you are in a Maine breakfast house in the wilderness. Super professional wait staff. Excellent with allergens. Good food - vegan options. Will be back!” - Yelp Review
130 Cottage St | Bar Harbor | twocatsbarharbor.com
2 Cats Bar Harbor is a great place if you are looking for genuinely fresh handmade food. They make everything on their menu right in their own kitchen. Including a ridiculous array of delicious baked goods. Although they serve a fantastic menu all day, their incredible bakery options really make them an out of this world brunch and breakfast location! And on top of the excellent food, they also have an excellent selection of coffees and teas. And nothing completes a great meal like the perfect drink to compliment it.
“Ugh I adored this place. We visited on a rainy morning in July, and got seated pretty quickly because it was only drizzling and we agreed to sit outside. The staff were wonderfully accommodating and as soon as they realized we were all getting soaked, did whatever they could to get us inside. I got the lobster Benedict and it was wonderful. Definitely need to come back here next time we're in Bar Harbor.” - Yelp Review
49 Rodick St | Bar Harbor | sidestreetbarharbor.com
Listen, the worst thing I have to say about Side Street Cafe is that they are seriously way too busy. But that is only because the food is so great that they can’t possibly meet the demand for it all the time. And it is for that reason that I highly recommend putting your name on their wait list at your first opportunity because otherwise you might have to wait for hours to get a table. But if you do get a table you can expect some of the absolute best breakfast anywhere in Bar Harbor!
And the nice thing is if you don’t want to wait for a table inside, there is always the option of eating outside. And while that’s great because it’s a great way to be able to take your dog out with you to the restaurant, the downside is that you are in Bar Harbor, so there is a good chance of rain so just be sure to check the weather if you are planning on sitting outdoors.
“killer breakfast spot. awesome service, great coffee, cool atmosphere, and everyone loved their breakfast.” - Yelp Review

1 West St | Bar Harbor | sunrisecafebarharbor.com
Sunrise Cafe is another great breakfast spot you can find in Bar Harbor. They have a wide variety of different options but they are especially known for their crepes. They feature a wide variety of different crepe options and I think that is really what makes them stand out from the other breakfast places on the list today. But if you or somebody in your party isn’t in the mood for crepes, don’t worry, they also feature a full breakfast and brunch menu with all the classics you expect.
“Very pleasantly surprised with how good the food was. We got the brie-apple-almond and strawberry-Nutella crepes. Good ingredients all around, you could taste everything in just about every bite. Worth the price, especially compared with some other establishments in the area. Worth a breakfast or snack stop.” - Yelp Review

There are a ton of Dunkin Donuts around the Bar Harbor area so you can really just pick whichever one is convenient on your route. They make for a great breakfast you can have in the car if you are in a hurry in the morning. And for those of you who are anything like me, they also make a great spot to stock up on a caffeinated beverage before you really have to start your day.
“Great Dunkin coffee. They are super busy, but the line moved along steadily. It took about 10 minutes for us to get our order, with about 12 cars ahead of us. We enjoy their coffee rolls, as well as hot and iced coffee.” - Yelp Review

62 Main St | Bar Harbor | coffeehoundcoffeeco.com
If you are the kind of person where the food comes second and the coffee comes first when it comes to enjoying breakfast, then Coffee Hound is going to be the spot in Bar Harbor for you. They have great cafe style food for breakfast including pastries and awesome breakfast sandwiches, but what they really specialize in (as the name might suggest) is a great cup of coffee. Their craft coffee is “farm to cup” and is locally roasted by the restaurant themselves. You can enjoy everything from a hand-crafted latte or cappuccino to matcha tea or an Americano. No matter what type of caffeine you need to get your engine running you will be able to enjoy it hot and hand-crafted at Coffee Hound!!!
“This place is really cute, I got one of those puff turnover things- It wasn't what I was expecting but was good with the blueberry jam. We also got breakfast egg bacon and cheese biscuits- they were HUGE! My husband and I could have easily split one. Overall, a cute visit and if you're in the area I would definitely go” - Yelp Review
80 Cottage St | Bar Harbor | jordanswildblueberry.com
If you are looking for a classic family style diner breakfast while you are in Bar Harbor then look no further than Jordan’s Restaurant. They open up nice and early at 5AM so they are the perfect spot if you are looking to get an early jump on your day of exploring Bar Harbor and Acadia. And they have all the breakfast classics you can expect like pancakes, bacon, and eggs, but what they seem to specialize in is their waffles. I saw people mention them again and again when I was looking through reviews of the restaurant. So if you do stop by, do yourself a favor and get some of their home made waffles to start your day.
“Good bacon egg and cheese. Blueberry pancakes and muffins were ok, not great. Good coffee. Old school family diner vibe. This is where the locals go. Affordable. Friendly service. Food came quickly. One of the few places open early.” - Yelp Review
240 Main St | Bar Harbor | choco-lattecafe.com
Choco-Latte is another great spot in Bar Harbor to grab a breakfast. Although they specialize in hot beverages and chocolates, they also have plenty of bakery items and a breakfast and lunch menu. So while you can enjoy all sorts of incredible hot beverages to start your day, you can also get pretty excellent breakfast food as well. Whether you just want a muffin and a cup of coffee, or a full on breakfast burrito and a hot chocolate to start your day, you will be able to find it at Choco-Latte. And they even offer outdoor pet-friendly seating for those of you who like to start your day with your canine friends.
“My husband and I went here on a whim our first morning in Bar Harbor. We ended up returning every morning after that (for a total of 3 mornings). They have AMAZING croissants and blueberry muffins/scones. Their Maple Oat Latte is out of this world. My husband tried their breakfast sandwiches and breakfast burrito! We both loved everything we tried.
For us both to want to go back each morning is really saying something! Would recommend to anyone!” - Yelp Review
51 Rodick St | Bar Harbor | thrivebarharbor.com
Thrive obviously focuses on juices, smoothies, and salads. And they do all of that really well and it is all obviously really healthy for you as well. But what their name doesn’t let you know is that they also happen to have a pretty fantastic breakfast menu. And the nice thing is that their breakfast menu leans a little on the healthy side. So if you are planning a big day of hiking and exploring Acadia and don’t want to be weighed down by a heavy breakfast all day then Thrive Juice Bar & Kitchen might be the best breakfast spot in Bar Harbor for you. They have breakfast burritos, avocado toast, and plenty of healthy bowls to help you get your day started with some clean burning fuel!
“Breakfast burrito is phenomenal!! We ordered as is but added sausage, SO good!! Street corn avocado toast was also good but burrito is king.” - Yelp Review
164 Main St | Bar Harbor | tripadvisor.com/Tim_Richs The Independent Cafe
Tim Rich’s The Independent Cafe is another spot around Bar Harbor to grab a good breakfast if you need a place to sit down and eat. They aren’t open until 7:30 so you won’t be able to stop here if you are getting a super early start on the day. But if you are planning on a more relaxed and leisurely day exploring Bar Harbor then Tim Rich’s might be just the spot for you. They mostly offer coffee, tea, and bakery items for sale, but they also have some good breakfast sandwiches on the menu you can choose from as well!
“Great place in the village for breakfast. Nice and lovely ladies working there. The price is great and the quality is great. Everything fresh.” - Yelp Review
It’s not super easy to get a lot of menu diversity in a list of just breakfast places, but I tried to get a little bit of variety on the list where I could. I know it’s kinda splitting hairs differentiating between brunch and breakfast but it’s always worth mentioning. I tried to get you some options for great breakfast sandwiches, a full on sit down brunch experience, or a quick fast food breakfast.
So I hope no matter what precisely you were looking for, I was able to help you narrow it down at least. But if you didn’t find exactly what you were looking for on this list, then be sure to check out one of our other great lists of restaurants around Bar Harbor and the Acadia National park area!
