Cafe This Way comes in at number one on my list of best breakfast restaurants near Acadia national park for a few reasons. First and foremost, they have a four and half star rating from their customers with nearly 1000 reviews in. Which is unusually consistent. So I know that when I recommend them to you, there is a very small chance you end up there on a day when they aren’t providing excellent service and quality. But I don’t have to worry about any of that with Cafe This Way. 

I know that if you go here for breakfast or brunch, they are going to deliver an experience that knocks your socks off. Not only will you get a great meal, you will also get a great price on it. And I think that permeates all the way through the experience at Cafe This Way. There is a really informal and laid back atmosphere with a nice hum of cheerful activity in the background. There really isn’t a better place in Bar Harbor to start your day!

They claim to be the best breakfast in all of Bar Harbor and their customers certainly seem to agree! They boast a four star rating with well over 500 individual reviews listed.

But with any restaurant that is so popular at  a certain time of day, be sure to call ahead and get a reservation, because otherwise the wait can be pretty long. And there’s really no worse way to start the day than to have everybody in your party getting hangry while they are waiting to just get a table to order food.

2 Cats Bar Harbor is a great place if you are looking for genuinely fresh handmade food. They make everything on their menu right in their own kitchen. Including a ridiculous array of delicious baked goods. Although they serve a fantastic menu all day, their incredible bakery options really make them an out of this world brunch and breakfast location! And on top of the excellent food, they also have an excellent selection of coffees and teas. And nothing completes a great meal like the perfect drink to compliment it.

The staff were wonderfully accommodating and as soon as they realized we were all getting soaked, did whatever they could to get us inside. I got the lobster Benedict and it was wonderful. Listen, the worst thing I have to say about Side Street Cafe is that they are seriously way too busy. But that is only because the food is so great that they can’t possibly meet the demand for it all the time. And it is for that reason that I highly recommend putting your name on their wait list at your first opportunity because otherwise you might have to wait for hours to get a table. But if you do get a table you can expect some of the absolute best breakfast anywhere in Bar Harbor!

And the nice thing is if you don’t want to wait for a table inside, there is always the option of eating outside. And while that’s great because it’s a great way to be able to take your dog out with you to the restaurant, the downside is that you are in Bar Harbor, so there is a good chance of rain so just be sure to check the weather if you are planning on sitting outdoors.

Not only do they have a fantastic breakfast menu with excellent sandwiches and wraps, they also have a super chill laid back atmosphere. So your day will start off on an even keel at Everyday Joe’s. Just simple delicious food, in a simple and calming environment.

But if you or somebody in your party isn’t in the mood for crepes, don’t worry, they also feature a full breakfast and brunch menu with all the classics you expect.

They have great cafe style food for breakfast including pastries and awesome breakfast sandwiches, but what they really specialize in (as the name might suggest) is a great cup of coffee. Their craft coffee is “farm to cup” and is locally roasted by the restaurant themselves. You can enjoy everything from a hand-crafted latte or cappuccino to matcha tea or an Americano. No matter what type of caffeine you need to get your engine running you will be able to enjoy it hot and hand-crafted at Coffee Hound!!!

They open up nice and early at 5AM so they are the perfect spot if you are looking to get an early jump on your day of exploring Bar Harbor and Acadia. And they have all the breakfast classics you can expect like pancakes, bacon, and eggs, but what they seem to specialize in is their waffles. I saw people mention them again and again when I was looking through reviews of the restaurant. So if you do stop by, do yourself a favor and get some of their home made waffles to start your day.

So while you can enjoy all sorts of incredible hot beverages to start your day, you can also get pretty excellent breakfast food as well. Whether you just want a muffin and a cup of coffee, or a full on breakfast burrito and a hot chocolate to start your day, you will be able to find it at Choco-Latte. And they even offer outdoor pet-friendly seating for those of you who like to start your day with your canine friends.

But what their name doesn’t let you know is that they also happen to have a pretty fantastic breakfast menu. And the nice thing is that their breakfast menu leans a little on the healthy side. So if you are planning a big day of hiking and exploring Acadia and don’t want to be weighed down by a heavy breakfast all day then Thrive Juice Bar & Kitchen might be the best breakfast spot in Bar Harbor for you. They have breakfast burritos, avocado toast, and plenty of healthy bowls to help you get your day started with some clean burning fuel!

They aren’t open until 7:30 so you won’t be able to stop here if you are getting a super early start on the day. But if you are planning on a more relaxed and leisurely day exploring Bar Harbor then Tim Rich’s might be just the spot for you. They mostly offer coffee, tea, and bakery items for sale, but they also have some good breakfast sandwiches on the menu you can choose from as well!
