Their tasting room is open 4pm to 8pm daily with cocktails, bottles, mixers, and retail to peruse & take home to enjoy. Since 1919 the Great Northern Bar & Grill has been delighting patrons with their good food, great drinks, and ever since they started showcasing talented musicians, stellar live music to listen to while you sip on something tasty. The walls are decorated with old signs of closed business that have graced the buildings in Whitefish and other places before, so you get a little piece of history when you step through the bar’s doors.

Bonsai Brewing Project is a seasonal bar operating during every season except winter in Whitefish, Montana. They are all about making brews that are unlike any other in flavor and feel while sitting back and enjoying the general ambience of their bar. The “brewhouse” specifically is focused on creating “high-quality small batch ales on a 7 bbl system”- meaning, they care about how they make their drinks just for you.
They also offer food that’s home-made and is constantly changing with the season so you know that whatever you get is made fresh. Chips & Salsa, Pasta Salad, the Bonsai Cheeseburger, hotdogs, sandwiches, and more are all ready to order, while brews like their Black Barleywine that’s been aged 20 months in bourbon barrels and “Smooth Sailing” (an IPA with Citra and Nelson Sauvin) make a great pairing with your food.

In 2005, the Sheeran family decided to settle down in Whitefish and make it their home and after years of working in and owning different restaurant-like businesses, they eventually became the owners of the Remington Bar which is a place where entertainment and dining meet.
