This bar isn’t just a bar, they are also a gateway to the Spotted Bear Ranger District and The Bob Marshall Wilderness Complex. Spotted Bear Spirits if you need a place to unwind after you trek out into the great outdoors.

Since everything you put into your body is important, Spotted Bear Spirits makes sure that whenever possible all of their ingredients are locally sourced and organic so you know every sip you take there is some of the best you’ll find in Whitefish.

Their tasting room is open 4pm to 8pm daily with cocktails, bottles, mixers, and retail to peruse & take home to enjoy. Their menu lays out all of the choices and what’s in each drink, so it makes for an easy read. Since 1919 the Great Northern Bar & Grill has been delighting patrons with their good food, great drinks, and ever since they started showcasing talented musicians, stellar live music to listen to while you sip on something tasty. The walls are decorated with old signs of closed business that have graced the buildings in Whitefish and other places before, so you get a little piece of history when you step through the bar’s doors. 

The Great Northern Bar & Grill has got whatever you need in order for a good night. Hungry and not looking to pay three figures for a good meal? Their reasonable prices are calling your name. Along with live music throughout the week (see listings for more specific details), they also have TV’s showcasing the latest game, gaming machines, pool tables, shuffleboard, and more.

3. Bonsai Brewing Project

Bonsai Brewing Project is a seasonal bar operating during every season except winter in Whitefish, Montana. They are all about making brews that are unlike any other in flavor and feel while sitting back and enjoying the general ambience of their bar. The “brewhouse” specifically is focused on creating “high-quality small batch ales on a 7 bbl system”- meaning, they care about how they make their drinks just for you.

They also offer food that’s home-made and is constantly changing with the season so you know that whatever you get is made fresh. Chips & Salsa, Pasta Salad, the Bonsai Cheeseburger, hotdogs, sandwiches, and more are all ready to order, while brews like their Black Barleywine that’s been aged 20 months in bourbon barrels and “Smooth Sailing” (an IPA with Citra and Nelson Sauvin) make a great pairing with your food.

In 2005, the Sheeran family decided to settle down in Whitefish and make it their home and after years of working in and owning different restaurant-like businesses, they eventually became the owners of the Remington Bar which is a place where entertainment and dining meet.

They have a large dance floor, a game section, and live poker every day of the week along with a fully fledged casino for those who like to test their luck with their friends. The Remington Bar features Latin Fusion Food and bar classics with menu items like Hand Cut Fries, Roast Pork, Pollo Limon, Chorizo/Shrimp Quesadilla, House Ground Burger, Grilled Mahi Mahi, burritos, sandwiches, and tacos.
