1. Library Bar

Intimate Speakeasy Cocktail Bar in an Iconic Hollywood Hotel

A woman stands behind a bar illuminated by purple lighting, creating a vibrant and inviting atmosphere.

7000 Hollywood Blvd | Hollywood | thehollywoodroosevelt.com

There could be no other bar in the top spot of our list of the best bars in LA. Located inside the Hollywood Roosevelt, Library Bar is everything you could possibly want a speakeasy-style spot to be. With dim lighting, leather seating, and vintage decor, it’s the sort of effortlessly cool upscale joint that invites you in and makes you want to linger.Ā

The vibes are important, but the drinks are even more important… and the mixologists at Library Bar do not disappoint. Using seasonal ingredients sourced from local markets, they’ll craft a libation tailored to your unique cocktail preferences for a truly one-of-a-kind bar experience.

ā€œIf I could give this bar 10 stars, I would! My husband and I found this spot nestled in the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel and decided the ambiance looked cute so we should give it a try. Once inside, we were blown away by the service and the quality of the drinks.Ā  highly recommend checking out Library Bar if you're in Hollywood and looking for an elevated cocktail experience!ā€ – Yelp ReviewĀ

2. Sunset & Vinyl

Swanky Date Night Spot Hidden Inside a Pizza Shop

1521 Vine St | Hollywood

If you find yourself walking Sunset and Vine trying to find the perfect place to grab a nightcap, don’t walk by 800° Woodfired Kitchen. Tucked inside of the unassuming pizza shop, you’ll find one of Hollywood’s hidden gems: Sunset & Vinyl.Ā

With talented mixologists and a dark, intimate Old Hollywood vibe, Sunset & Vinyl makes a great spot for date night or continuing the night after an event at the Palladium. And for my audiophiles, you’ll be pleased to know you can choose from the bar’s vinyl selection to find the perfect musical pairing for any cocktail you select from the extensive menu.Ā

ā€œWonderful personalized service rarely seen in Hollywood. And an awesome selection of vinyl that you can play all night long. Bring your friends for a great evening at a very unique space. Highly recommend.ā€ – Yelp ReviewĀ

3. The Green Room

Immersive Cocktail Experience with Stunning Views of the City

1250 E Harvard Rd | Burbank | tgrburbank.com

Tucked away inside Castaway Burbank, the Green Roon is another one of LA’s hidden gems. And this one is worth tracking down!

Like its namesake – the backstage ā€œgreen roomā€ where Hollywood’s elite hang out before a show – you’ll get the full movie-star experience at this hidden craft cocktail lounge. Think immersive, table-side mixology, top-shelf spirits, and dazzling views of the Los Angeles skyline. There’s a good reason The Green Room has been featured in Forbes, Eater LA, and Thrillest – not to mention, won OpenTable’s 2025 Diner’s Choice Awards for Hot Spot, Most Romantic, and Vibrant Bar Scene.Ā

But if you really want to find out what all the hype is about, you’ll have to make the trip to Burbank and see for yourself.Ā

ā€œThis jewel of a spot is a wonderful place to go to celebrate an anniversary or even the city of LA itself. With its epic views with even more epic cocktail presentations, The Green Room has put so much thought into each of their drinks. Their bartender staff is off the charts trained to do an entire range of drinks and people I would trust to just surprise me.ā€ – Yelp ReviewĀ

4. Perch

448 S Hill St | Downtown | perchla.com

If you want a bar that will elevate your night out, Perch will take you to new heights… literally. The colorful bistro offers classic, French-inspired dining options with a fresh LA twist and, of course, lots of amazing cocktail options. From the 15th-floor patio, you’ve got amazing, unobstructed views of Downtown Los Angeles and the mountains in the distance.Ā

Plus, with two outdoor fire pits, the party can keep going even if the temperatures dip.

ā€œSitting outside with that rooftop scenery makes the whole dinner feel special. It's definitely the highlight and probably the main reason people come here. The atmosphere is lively but not chaotic, and it's a nice spot to enjoy a night out.ā€ – Yelp ReviewĀ

5. Firefly

Romantic Bar and Restaurant That’s Heavy on the Ambiance

11720 Ventura Blvd | Studio City | fireflystudiocity.com

So much of a bar’s ambiance comes down to the lighting. At fireflies, you won’t find colorful strobes or divey twinkle lights. Inspired by the ā€œenchanting glow of fireflies,ā€ the whole venue is built around creating contrast between dark, cozy corners and warm, glowing lights. It’s chic. It’s inviting. And it is *the* place for a romantic evening in Studio City.

ā€œSuch a beautiful restaurant ! Great atmosphere , great food / drinks! 10/10 experience definitely will be back and recommend. Loved it!ā€ – Yelp ReviewĀ

6. Eastwood

Locally Owned, Western-Inspired Bar with Sports on the Tube

611 S Western Ave | Koreatown | eastwoodla.com

Fun and unpretentious, there’s always something exciting going on at Eastwood. Inspired by Hollywood Westerns, you can catch live country music, DJs and line dancing, and even Eastwood’s legendary mechanical bull. There’s sports on the television and skeeball games lined up against the wall. Whatever your idea of fun is, you’re sure to find it here.

ā€œWhat a fun experience unlike any other in LA. The food was great, and the non alcoholic beverage options were top tier. The crowd is diverse but one thing for sure: everyone came to dance and have a good time. Bonus points if you ride Gucci like I did :)ā€ – Yelp ReviewĀ

7. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang

A ā€œDeco Disco Dreamscapeā€ Where You Can Dance the Night Away

A lively group of people roller skating together in a colorful disco setting, enjoying music and dancing.

3531 Wilshire Blvd | Wilshire Center |Ā  thelinehotel.com

Disco isn’t dead, baby. It’s still pumping through the speakers at Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, a dance club hidden inside the Line Hotel in Koreatown. There’s plenty of nightlife in Los Angeles to explore, but nothing will transport you through time quite like grooving and shimmying the night away at this gem of a bar.

The combo of 70s glitz and glam, Gatsbyesque decadence, and the latest club hits make for a high-energy evening you won’t soon forget. Be sure to wear your dancing shoes!

ā€œThis club is so fun! Great vibes and performers. It feels like you can let go at this club, not care about what others are thinking, and just have fun dancing on the light changing dance floor. If you go here, let go and have fun.ā€ – Yelp ReviewĀ

8. Skybar

Trendy Hollywood Rooftop Bar with a Full-Sized Swimming Pool

8440 Sunset Blvd | West Hollywood | mondrianhotels.com

Located at the top of the Mondrian Hotel in West Hollywood, Skybar is one of the best and most iconic bars in LA. The newly reimagined space is fresh and chic, with a huge swimming pool and expertly crafted cocktails. And the venue only gets hotter when the sun goes down with world class DJs and an atmosphere that’s positively buzzing with energy and Hollywood glamor.Ā

ā€œI have not been to the Mondrian Skybar in I don't know how long... but it was just as I remembered beautiful views great drinks, wonderful service and a lot of fun. I didn't realize how much I missed you Skybar until I came back to visit. I will come back soon.ā€ – Yelp ReviewĀ

9. Mambo Craze Cabaret

6506 Hollywood Blvd | Hollywood | mambocrazecabaret.com

Wish you could spend an evening in Old Hollywood? Mambo Craze Cabaret is self-proclaimed ā€œlove letter to vintage LA,ā€ where you can step back in time to the era of pin up models and showgirls. Mambo celebrates the Golden Era of Dance and Latino culture in LA. Expect to dress your best for an opulent night of unforgettable live performances – including such classic acts as vixens popping out of cakes and swimming in champagne glasses.Ā

For a sensual, provocative bar experience you won’t find anywhere else in Los Angeles, Mambo Craze Cabaret is a must.Ā

ā€œAbsolutely love and recommend this event that transports you to the Cabaret era with live music and performances. Makes for a fun night of salsa dancing and entertainment. ā€ – Yelp ReviewĀ

10. Lito’s Cork Room

Proudly Serving East Los Angeles + Montebello Since 1946

6007 E Olympic Blvd | East LAĀ

Regulars call Lito’s Cork Room the Hotel California because once you check in, you’ll never want to leave!

Lito’s is a divy spot that’s a refreshing break from the rest of the LA bar scene. No astronomical prices or elaborate mixologist-generated cocktails. Just good music, good people, and good drinks. If that sounds like a recipe for success, you’re right! Lito’s has been in business since the 40s, and the owner isn’t planning on shutting it down anytime soon.

ā€œI love hanging out at dive bars were it feels cozy and the liquor prices are low. I came by to see a friend during a comedy show which had the bar packed. The bar is small so there is limited seating. Free parking is available in their lot and if that is full there are plenty of spaces on the street.ā€ – Yelp ReviewĀ

11. Alchemy Craft

Celebrating Los Angeles’s Craft Beer and Wine Scene

520 W Whittier Blvd | MontebelloĀ

This bar celebrates the unique alchemy it takes to create a truly great drink, the artisanal genius of craft beer brewers and small-batch wine makers. Perfect place to stop in on a night out in Montebello or for weekend breakfast or brunch. You’ll love the dining hall experience and, even better, supporting local business.Ā

ā€œLocated in the BLVD Market. Space. There's street parking available. I had one drink here, the paloma. It was so refreshing and I love the crispness of it. The bartenders were great and welcoming. In the food hall there is indoor seating and outdoor seating. They do have heated lamps which is nice. Overall, I'd come back here again.ā€ – Yelp ReviewĀ

12. Lovefool Bar

Karaoke, Pool Tables, and Cheap Drinks, Oh My!

The perfect dive for a doggone good time. Image courtesy of @ma_cherie_xo.

9067 Imperial Hwy | DowneyĀ Ā

Lovefool isn’t the glitziest bar in LA, but it is one of the best places to have a chill night and a good time. The recently remodeled space gets great reviews from regulars and newcomers alike. You can enjoy cheap cocktails and beer on draft, not to mention karaoke, pool tables, and sports on five big screens.

ā€œReally nice remodel. New Owner + Anna have done a great job with the re-opening. Great vibe. Good traffic almost every night of the week they have something going on (except closed Mondays.) Toro does a great job on Security, and he's cool too. The staff really does a good job making you feel comfortable and they really look out for regulars.ā€ – Yelp ReviewĀ

13. The Lucky Tiki

Hidden Tiki Speakeasy Known for Good Vibes + Strong Cocktails

5621 N Figueroa St | Highland Park | luckytikibar.com

At this point in the list, it should be obvious that things in LA are not always as they appear – least of all its bar entrances. The entrance to The Lucky Tiki is hidden away inside Highland Park Bowl, but once you step inside you’ll be transported to a tropical getaway. Getting in is a game of luck, so be sure to try your hand at the shell game if you’re hoping to spend the evening sipping mai tais!

ā€œIn case it wasn't obvious this place is a 10/10 and a must checkout. If you like tiki bars or speakeasies you will be very fulfilled. S*** if you just like delicious drinks in general - you will leave feeling VERY happy.ā€ – Yelp ReviewĀ
