2. Dockside Seafood

According to the folks at Dockside seafood, the building that houses their restaurant was built in 1792 by ship Chandler Captain William Taylor, making it the oldest existing ballast stone and masonry building in the state of Georgia. Patrons at the restaurants are “seated among the original support posts, beams, joists, and stone walls,” providing a truly unique dining experience in Savannah’s Historic District.

If the history isn’t enough to draw you in, the tasty food and casual vibe certainly will be. Locals can’t get enough of the coconut shrimp and crab stuffed mushrooms.

Their food menu includes appetizers like mac and cheese jalapeno poppers, shrimp, crab, and sausage spring rolls, and fried green tomatoes with bacon. Some of their entrees are crispy fried lobster tails, pan seared salmon, and fried pork chops with gravy.

You could tell all the waiters/waitresses were hustling this evening to all tables and very attentive. Oh don't forget the pecan pie, I just very well be the best pie I've ever had. 6. Sorry Charlie’s Oyster Bar & Cocktails

Sorry Charlie’s is Savannah’s premier oyster bar. They serve fresh local seafood with an emphasis on southern regional flavors. Its menu reflects Savannah’s southern seaside vibe with menu items like pimento cheese cornbread, hot boiled peanuts, Lowcountry boil, and really fresh oysters. The oysters are sourced locally and from all over the country. It is either served raw on the half shell or roasted. They also serve foods like ceviche, catfish po boys, and shrimp & grits. 

This restaurant prides itself on serving great food and cocktails alongside friendly and detailed service. When you visit, you can watch a game at the bar or sit at a rooftop table and enjoy the view. The restaurant is inside of one of Georgia’s oldest buildings, and it overlooks Ellis Square. This restaurant is sure to show you a good time!

“Stopped in specifically for a drink and ended up ordering a dozen oysters and the shrimp cocktail. Service was top notch, love a waiter who writes down not only the oysters we had, but ones we should try as well. Recommended 3 amazing, different types, and we loved them all. Chive Sea Bar & Lounge offers a unique dining experience in Savannah’s Historic District. Its design is inspired by the decadence of the 1920s. It is a great place to be for anyone who wants to have an intimate dining experience like no other. This restaurant is located on a bustling street that offers a refreshing change of pace. And along with the gorgeous ambiance, you’ll get to enjoy lots of amazing seafood. 

This restaurant has ample lunch, dinner, and drink menus. For lunch you can get food items like pan seared snapper risotto, chilean sea bass with orzo and red curry sauce, and crab soup. For dinner, the restaurant offers lamb chops, lobster and edamame risotto, prawn risotto, crab stuffed chicken wings, and much more. The drink menu is a long one filled with different beers, cocktails, and wines.

The hostess even stopped over to make sure we were being waited on. We started with drinks, followed by the calamari and delicious entrees! 9. Shrimp Factory

This restaurant is a great spot for lovers of shrimp and lovers of low country cuisine. Savannah is one of the best places to get seafood, and the Shrimp Factory happens to be one of the city’s best options for casual dining along the riverfront. 

This restaurant has been around for over 40 years, and exists in what was a former cotton warehouse built in 1823. They serve lunch and dinner that is really easy to enjoy, and are known, of course, for their shrimp. You’d also get to enjoy fresh baked bread with pimento cheese to start, pine bark stew, or southern bouillabaisse.

a.Lure is a contemporary restaurant that serves low country cuisine in Savannah. Their food has a fresh “from-the-farm” taste because most of their meats, seafood, and produce are sourced locally. Their seafood is caught by fishermen from nearby Florida and the Carolinas. They catch grouper, snapper, blue crab, and more. All their ingredients are just as southern as their dishes. 

This restaurant specializes in seafood, but also offers a lot more. They offer many kinds of meat, including pork, steak, and chicken. All their meat comes from the Hunter Cattle Farm in Georgia. All their livestock on the farm is natural, hormone free, and grass-fed. So anything you have from a.Lure is sure to be fresh and delicious.
