Spanky’s Pizza Galley and Saloon has been a staple in the River Street food scene since 1976, but they’re known for much more than being a hometown favorite. According to Spanky’s the restaurant is also home to the original chicken finger. We don’t know if that’s true or not, but we haven’t seen it disputed anywhere in Savannah, that’s for sure.
This family-friendly, locally-owned establishment can fry up pretty much anything you like. Popular menu items include fried chicken, fried shrimp, and fried mushrooms, as well as the pizza pie that’s a part of the Pizza Galley and Saloon’s name.
“Great locally owned restaurant known for their fried chicken fingers and spuds. Always great food and service. Kid's menu has several great favorites to choose from. This restaurant sits on River Street and you have a great view of the ship's coming into port.” - Yelp Review
