Each hole on the course is elevated by the sweeping views of the Pine Valley Mountains, Hurricane Cliffs, and Zion National Park! 

A 6,901 yard layout across dunes with native sagebrush pepperd all over to make a golfing experience truly unique to those who frequent the sport. The Copper Rock Golf Course design was helmed by Gordon Zitting and the Copper Rock Golf Course family & team have spent decades in good ol’ Hurricane Valley working to make sure that this golf course is, well, the best!

18 holes with a par 72, Copper Rock Golf Course has each and every hole layed out in a virtual diagram on their website, that means you can take a look to judge and see how you’re going to do before you even step foot on the grass! 3. Sand Hollow Golf Course

“Escape. Play. Discover. Relax” that’s what Sand Hollow Resort promises for you when you make this your next stop. This recreational resort is the place for “unlimited outdoor activities” and is located amongst the beauty of Southern Utah. You can enjoy boating, motorized sports, biking and hiking – (as that is what snags the most interest in locals with all those National Parks around), and their award winning golf course!

You have a choice of where to play, either at their Championship Course where it’s been “ranked as a “Top 100 Resort Course” by Golfweek since 2011,” the vast expanse of greens on The Links Course, or practice your swing at their driving range/wee course! 

They also offer lessons for both pro and newbies to the sport, along with a description of each course and what to expect before you lace up your shoes. The Sand Hollow Resort is a great time both just as a golf course and as a place to find your new favorite outdoor activity!

4. Dixie Red Hills Golf Course

If you’ve ever wanted to play as close to the red rocks as you can, well you’ve come to the right place!

Want to go to the very first golf course developed by the city of St. George? Introducing Dixie Red Hills Golf Course! From a desert gas station pump to the absolutely gorgeous rolling greens og a golf course surrounded by red rock formations so close you can go up and touch them! 

A shorter course than the others we’ve talked about on our list today, coming in at 9 holes at a 34 par, this course is quite literally in nature, you can see the picture above that if you take your swing a certain way, well you might see your ball bounce off those rocks!

Now every hole at Dixie Red Hills Golf Club is one to remember, but the team highlights holes 1, 3, and 6 as especially special due to the environment and tricky uphill battles ahead…(you’ll get that joke when you play at Dixie we promise).

5. Green Spring Golf Course

Green Spring Golf Course is a favorite amongst both visitors and locals for offering a top tee-ier experience at affordable pricing. Gene Bates, an award winning golf course designer, took Green Spring Golf Course to a new level with his expertise back in 1989 when this place first opened. Ranked as one of the best in the state by Golf Digest, this course continues to draw people in who are new to the game or seasoned pros.

Ever have the dream of putting across the red rock formations? Well you will absolutely love holes 5 and 6 of this course as you will be swinging over a red-rock canyon. Green Spring Golf Course offers views of Pine Valley Mountain and Red Cliffs State Park Recreation Area while playing. (We do have to say though, this course is notably difficult, hole 6 was once ranked the hardest hole in all of Utah, but now resides on a list of one of the hardest holes in Utah, so if you’re in for a challenge, Green Spring Golf Course may be the place for you).

6. SunRiver Golf Club

A championship golf course that’s a favorite amongst Utahns!

Set in the Virgin River Valley, the aptly named SunRiver Golf Club is one of “southern Utah’s greatest championship courses”. This course is the only place where you can find bentgrass tees in all of Southern Utah, plus you get the classic greens and views of the beautiful landscape. Just off exit 2 in St. George, SunRiver Golf Club has courses that both offer a friendly atmosphere in your golf group and also a bit of competition as some of the holes can be just a bit challenging. 

As bonuses at SunRiver Golf Club you can get lessons from a professional team that’s trained for years in the game and you can check out their restaurant Chef Hog’s Oyster Bar & Grill which has both breakfast and lunch before you step onto the greens!

This 18 hole course clearly has plenty to offer and if you like a virtual tour of the park before you go you can! They have each hole layed out as a diagram on their website and a video showing off the course from up high! It’s pretty great!
