Moab is a beautiful city that is conveniently located right next to one of our nation’s most beloved national parks. And its close proximity to Arches makes me think that a lot of you reading this are probably planning an upcoming trip or vacation to the area. So today I have something that should help you plan your trip. 

This is a list of some of the best restaurants around Moab to grab lunch. I’ll give you a summary of each restaurant's style, their address, a link to their website, and even a review that other customers have left so you can see what other people have had to say about them. They offer both breakfast and lunch menus so if it’s early enough in the day you will want to be sure to try one of their fantastic cinnamon rolls while they are fresh out of the oven. But if you are just interested in going at lunch time, they have plenty of great options as well. 

They have a wide selection of salads, wraps, sandwiches, and all kinds of speciality paninis. In particular people really seem to enjoy the strawberry chicken salad and the Moab cristo panini. But if you are feeling inventive with your order, they also offer plenty of options to build your own panini. They let you choose every part of it. The bread, the cheese, the meat, the sauce, and even what veggies you think would be good. 

And one of my favorite things about Sweet Cravings is that they recently started doing online ordering on top of the typical dine-in experience that they offer. And I think this is especially convenient for any of you who are planning a trip to Arches and don’t want to waste any of the time you could be using to backpack around or explore the park. 

You can just place your online order in advance and have it waiting hot and fresh for you when you pull into the parking lot. There’s no reason to be wasting any of your precious vacation time waiting around the restaurant for them to prepare your meal. 2 - Antica Forma

Antica Forma means “the old form,” so you can be sure that they are going to be creating delicious and authentic Italian style cuisine. And you can get all kinds of Italian classics that make for a great and filling lunch. They of course have incredible pastas and salads that will make a great lunch for anybody. 

But if you are planning on having lunch in a group they also happen to offer fantastic Neapolitan style pizza. And Neapolitan pizza is pretty similar to the New York style pizza that most of us in the United States are used to. The big difference is that Neapolitan style pizza is served with a thin crust, a unique tomato sauce that is all topped off with mozzarella cheese. 

And Antica Forma really takes making pizza about as seriously as anybody possibly could. They use a special caputo flour to make the dough for the pizza. And they even prepare it over 24 hours in advance so that way it has plenty of time to chill in order to bring out as much flavor as possible. 

They make and stretch their own mozzarella cheese everyday, and they even make their sauce with tomatoes grown on the volcanic plains on the southern side of Mt. Vesuvius. And I think you are going to be really hard pressed to find more authentic Italian style pizza anywhere outside of Italy than you are going to get at Anica Forma!

Moab Garage Co is pretty much going to have the standard classics you expect from a cafe style restaurant. Which mostly means that you can get a great collection of different sandwiches. They have everything from a meatball sandwich on Texas toast to a vegetarian sandwich that is packed full of all kinds of fresh vegetables. 

And they also happen to have a good selection of salads and even some street tacos. If you are trying to get a quick lunch with your whole family then you will be glad to hear that they also have a full kids menu at lunch time as well. Which I think makes them a great choice for families and anybody with children in their dining party who is looking for a great lunch around Moab!

As the name might suggest, Patsa Jay’s is an Italian restaurant that has plenty of great pasta dishes. And they have been serving exceptional Italian food for over 29 years now. And if you go to their website you can read the story of the owner’s culinary training. The “long story short” version of it is that the owner (Jay) learned the art of Italian cooking from his mentor Sonny in California. 

But the important part is that Sonny comes from a long line of incredible Italian chef’s. In fact his great-grandmother was the cook for the first king of the United Countries of Italy (Victor Emanuel the Second). So you know that the Italian food at Pasta Jay's is going to be some of the most authentic Italian food you can find anywhere in the country. I mean how much more authentic can you get than somebody who’s training comes from the first King of Italy’s personal chef?

Dewey’s Restaurant and Bar opened its doors back in 2020. And in the short time that they have been open, they have quickly become one of the area’s favorite spots to grab a great lunch. And it’s easy to understand how when you learn that the head chef has been cooking and working in restaurants for over 30 years. And that experience really pays off.

They serve your standard American style cuisine that likely consists of many of your favorites. Which means that they have a great offering of different salads, sandwiches, appetizers, and entrees. They even have some popular Mexican dishes like fish tacos and quesadillas. And I think that makes their menu readily accessible to almost any group of diners. So whether you are backpacking around Arches all on your own, or you are on a full on family vacation, I think they will have just what you are looking for for lunch.

Subway is one of the most popular fast food chains in the country. But what I think makes them stand apart from all the burger joints is that you really can eat pretty healthy at Subway. Since you get to pick every part of what goes into your meal, you can make it as healthy as you want to. You can go with a whole grain bun, lots of vegetables, and fat free dressing. 

Or you can go with a steak sub on the Italian herb and cheese bread with as much mayonnaise as you want. I think the fact that you get so much control over what your meal really helps make them one of the best choices for lunch in the whole Moab area. 

But more than that, I think they make a great option anytime you are planning on spending the whole day out on the trails exploring or backpacking around Arches.
