And the great thing about these campsites is that most of them offer sites for both tent campers as well as RV campers. So they should have a little something for everyone!

1 - Up the Creek Campground

A Small Tent Only Campsite Right In the Heart of Moab

210 E 300th S | Moab | moabcampground.com

If you are looking for a great camping site near Arches National Park that isn’t filled with fancy RVs and campers and just want a great place to set up your tent and enjoy a fire under the night sky then Up the Creek Campground is going to be just what you are looking for.

The campground doesn’t have all the hookups for RVs and the sort, but they do offer working showers and toilets for all of the campers to use. And they happen to have a super convenient location as well. They are just two blocks off of Main Street in Moab, making them a great oasis of peace and relaxation right in the heart of the city. The campsite itself is pretty small and only has 15 sites available for tent only campers.

Up the Creek Campground was first established in 1989 and has been thriving for over 30 years now. So you may want to make your reservation as early as possible because plenty of other campers are going to want to grab a site at this super convenient location. You can enjoy all the benefits of camping outdoors, while only being a few minutes walk from downtown Moab that is filled with all kinds of shops, restaurants, and coffee shops for you to enjoy.

And since they are in downtown Moab, they are conveniently only about a half hour drive from both Arches National Park as well as Canyonlands National Park too. And they even have access to the world famous Slick Rock Bike Trail for those of you who are hoping to get a great ride in while you are visiting Arches!

“My boyfriend and I reserved a spot for a night about a week in advance online and arrived at the campsite with no issues at all. Super clean, incredibly convenient, and really quiet campsite! We also made use of the grill that they provided right next to our spot. Definitely will be considering this campsite when I visit Moab again :)” - Yelp Review

2 - ACT Campground

A Campground Near Arches with RV sites, Cabin Style Rooms, and Tent Sites As Well

1536 S Millcreek Dr | Moab | actcampground.com

ACT Campground was first opened in 2015. And in the years since then, they have quickly become one of the area's most popular camping sites and it's easy to see why. They have spaces for RV campers as well as tent campers. And they even have cabin style rooms for rent for those of you who don’t have an RV, but don’t want to spend the night sleeping on the ground. And they are very proud to model how a commercial or residential property can be environmentally friendly.

But the thing that makes them most unique is that they have a community kitchen. Which features a double indoor kitchen, as well as an outdoor patio with a gas grill where you can do plenty of cooking. And honestly, that’s a huge feature if you are planning on spending several days exploring Arches or the other nearby National Parks. Sure Moab has plenty of great dining options, but if you don’t want to spend the money to be eating out three times a day for your entire trip, then having a kitchen and grill is going to be a real lifesaver!!

“Simply amazing!! Every amenity is maintained so very well that I now have a higher standard to campgrounds. The hospitality and positive customer service at this place was a first for me.” - Yelp Review

3 - Sun Outdoors Arches Gateway

The nice thing about Sun Outdoors is that it is an RV Resort and Campground right in the Moab Valley. It offers sites for both tent and RV campers. And on top of that, it also has rentals for vintage Airstreams and cabins. Which means that no matter what kind of camping you are looking for, you are going to be able to find it here.

They even have a camp store, a bike repair station, a putting green, a laundry room, hot tub, and a dog park. Which I think means they have the most amenities of any of the campsites on the list today. And you get all of that while only being minutes away from both Arches and Canyonlands National Park.

You can get a covered tent site for around $40 a night, a deluxe pull through RV site with full hookups for around $60 a night, Cabin rentals for somewhere between $70 and $100 a night, and even a 2 bedroom premium cottage rental for around $180 a night.

And if you can’t find a spot at this location, Sun Outdoors also has an additional location in downtown Moab as well that offers a swimming pool, picnic areas, a camping store, and full laundry facility! And you can expect to get a great camping site for around the same rates as the location at Arches.

“Fantastic property with great employees. I stayed 3 days and had a wonderful time. Jo at the front did everything possible to make my stay more enjoyable. It was very quiet and peaceful while I stayed. I'll definitely be returning.” - Yelp Review

And they always have incredibly clean and well maintained bathroom facilities with full showers that are available for every camper. They have a pool available, a hot tub/sauna, and free Wi-Fi across the entire campground.

And on top of the great tent and RV sites, they also have plenty of great cabins available to rent that have their own full baths and showers for those of you who are hoping for a more private camping experience!

“Very nice camp ground. Great pool and jacuzzi.  Spots are spacious and park is very clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. 5 - Pack Creek Campgrounds

Quiet Secluded Camping At This Multi-Site Campground in Moab

1520 Murphy Ln | Moab | packcreekcampground.com

Pack Creek Campground has something to offer for every camper who is looking for somewhere great to stay near Arches National Park. Each of their tent sites comes with a parking space, a picnic table, and a firepit. And they are all centrally located to have easy access to the bathrooms and laundry site.

The nicest part is that most of the tent sites have plenty of tree coverage so you can set your tent up in the shade to avoid getting overheated in the summer sun. They also have level, graveled, pull through sites for RVs with full hookups. And they even have smaller electric and water sites for smaller sized RVs and pop-ups that do not require a septic hook-up. And they even have massive group sites available for anybody who is planning on hosting a large event.

“Been coming here yearly for years. They are able to accommodate our large party. Bathrooms and showers are clean. Has a laundry room and little play ground. Love hearing the small stream at night. Great camp and rv site. Nice and clean” - Yelp Review
