And I tried to get a good mix on the list so that way no matter if you’re visiting in the winter or summer you will be able to find something fun to do the next time you are in Aspen!  And anytime you can use one of our convenient digital GiftYa gift cards at one of these locations in Aspen I’ll be sure to throw you a handy link you can use.

Our digital GiftYa gift cards make a really great option anytime you are on vacation for a couple of reasons. First and foremost since they are in an all digital format it means you never have to worry about forgetting to pack them or losing them while you are out enjoying your vacation. And another reason they are great when you are planning a trip is that they make your budgeting process easier. You can allocate and spend the money you would spend on dining out or whatever else ahead of time and just have it on the card and ready to go. Which means you’ll have to worry less about managing your budget while you are on vacation. I mean, who wants to do math on their vacation anyways?

But that’s enough with the introduction, let’s get right to that list of fun things to do in Aspen that brought you here in the first place!

1 - White House Tavern

📍 302 E Hopkins Ave | Aspen | https://aspenwhitehouse.com/

If you are out in Aspen and you are looking for a great meal and a stiff drink then the White House Tavern is going to be the perfect spot for you! It’s one of the highest reviewed restaurants in the whole city and the nice part is that it isn’t connected to a resort or hotel so you don’t have to worry about not being able to get in. They have an amazing selection of burgers and sandwiches that anybody would love, but people also rave about their salads. Their kale salad and macho salad seem to be particularly popular with locals and travelers alike so be sure to give them a try if you are looking for a healthy lunch or dinner. And on top of that they also have an extensive cocktail menu as well. So if you want a great meal as well as an amazing drink then they are going to have you covered. And they don’t take reservations, but if you show up and there’s a wait for a table you can just give them your cell number and they’ll text you as soon as your table is ready. It’s really the perfect spot in Aspen if you are looking for a relaxing night with a great meal in a relaxing atmosphere!

“Another incredible Hillstone hit! We were lucky enough to walk in and grab 2 seats at the bar on a Thursday night about an hour before closing. This restaurant is very small, yet has the classic welcoming Hillstone feeling in a dimly lit and service-forward upscale restaurant.
I got my classic girl dinner comprising of the Rotisserie Kale Salad and French fries. My coworker got the French dip--he said it was excellent.” - Yelp Review

2 - Maroon Bells Peaks

📍 10 Miles West of Aspen | CITY | www.colorado.com/articles/explore-maroon-bells-what-you-need-know

If you are hoping to enjoy some of Aspen’s breathtaking natural beauty, but don’t want to spend all the money to get into one of the ski resorts then I would recommend hiking out to Maroon Bells Peak. This is one of the most beautiful places around Aspen and it’s a very popular hiking trail as well. The only thing you really have to watch out for is if there are any extreme winter weather conditions before you set out. But otherwise it’s a very peaceful hike that you can enjoy during the morning or afternoon. And it’s well worth the hike for the breathtaking views as well as all the opportunities to take incredible selfies to help memorialize your incredible vacation in Aspen.

“We visited at the tail end of winter. The road was closed, and the snowmobile tours only were going a mile or two up the road. I guess because of avalanche danger. We decided to walk. We saw many people on cross country skis and we wished we had them as they seemed a more efficient means of travel than trudging through the melted snow. Amazing views.
Highly recommend.” - Yelp Review

3 - T-Lazy-7 Ranch

📍 3129 Maroon Creek Rd | Aspen | https://www.tlazy7.com/

If you want to be sure to see all the incredible natural beauty that Aspen is so famous for then be sure to check out the T-Lazy-7 Ranch. They offer guided tours of the area in both the summer months and the winter. In the summer you can take a horseback guided tour and really get back in touch with nature, and if you are there in the winter they also offer snowmobile tours of Aspen which I’m sure are incredibly fun. If you’ve never ridden a snowmobile I would highly recommend giving it a try because it can be incredibly fun. And the nice thing about T-Lazy-7 Ranch is they offer private tours as well as group tours so you can find the perfect tour that works for your party while you are out enjoying everything Aspen has to offer!

“My wife and I did the Independence tour after doing the Klondike tour last years. The trail was faster and the more exciting. Highly recommend this as it was the highlight of our Aspen trip. Sam and Caleb were great in educating the riders about the trails and keeping everyone safe. The burgers were legit in the middle of the ride as well!! 10/10” - Yelp Review

4 - Elk Mountain Expeditions

They are a locally owned Aspen business. So you can feel good about supporting a small family owned business in Aspen and help keep the vibrant local culture of Aspen alive and thriving for years to come when you support Elk Mountain Expeditions!

“We had an amazing time rafting on the middle roaring fork yesterday. We new that it was late in the season and that it was going to be a float with some small rapids, but it was so much fun. Bean was our guide and she was awesome, we laughed, enjoyed the scenery and had a great time.
If you are in Aspen and looking for a rafting experience, definitely use Elk Mountain.” - Yelp Review

It’s one of the highest rated resorts in the area and customers are constantly raving about how great the rooms are in the warm personal service that the hotel staff offers during your stay!

“Wonderful stay over thanksgiving - hotel has a great vibe and amazing holiday feel to it.
Rika at the valet buck restaurant was top notch. Originally from Bali, he brought his superb Balinese hospitality to Aspen.
Mountain social bar and lounge was always great to hangout and Michael with his superb service made the experience even better.

This park is right in downtown Aspen and it features plenty of very easy hikes that people of any age can enjoy and its well known for its natural beauty.

“Lovely this is. Serene is the landscape of rocks, flowers, and, trees against the majestic Colorado sky and mountains. Rocks beautifully engraved honoring John Denver's lyrics. A quiet childhood memory of "rocky mountain high" & "autograph" always being played on all of our family car trips.
CHEERS!” - Yelp Review

📍 555 E Durant Ave | Aspen | www.blazingadventures.com

If you want to get out on the waterways around Aspen Blazing Adventures can be a great option for you. Not only do they offer rafting, kayaking, and paddleboarding, but they also have plenty of amazing hiking trails you can enjoy. This is really one you’ll want to do in the summer time to avoid the icy cold water in the winter, but otherwise I’m sure you will have a memorable time at Blazing Adventures!

“Amazing experience!!
We booked the white water rafting tour. Our tour guide was highly experienced and led the group very well. We had so much fun and felt very safe with our tour guide. I wish I remembered her name, but she stated that she had worked for Blazing for decades. Her husband was the second drive on the tour and he was also great. Both very knowledgeable and made the experience unforgettable.
If you are in Aspen, book a tour with Blazing Adventures!” - Yelp Review

8 - Aspen Art Museum

📍 637 E Hyman Ave | Aspen | https://aspenartmuseum.org/

At the Aspen Art Museum you can enjoy a presentation of the newest most-important evolutions in international contemporary art. They have plenty of great exhibits and also offer public educational programs. Which I think makes this the perfect way to spend the day in Aspen if your outdoor plans got rained (or snowed) out!

“The Aspen Art Museum is free and has a great restaurant on the top floor with a nice view. They only had one exhibit open on the second floor when we went. They have a small, eclectic gift shop as well. I would recommend to anyone visiting Aspen to stop by. It is very warm inside and they also have nice bathrooms. You are supposed to make reservations online to visit, but we just walked in and they were fine with it.” - Yelp Review
