6 Rooftop Restaurants in Tampa for a Boozy Brunch

Bloody Marys, mimosas, and of course savory breakfast potatoes.

Your weekend reset may sometimes come in the form of sleeping in, going for a walk with your pup, and grabbing a matcha latte at a local coffee shop. Other times, a booze-filled brunch with friends is just the cure after a long work week.

1. The Canopy at The Birchwood

Rooftop lounge with stunning views of Tampa Bay

340 Beach Dr | North East St. Petersburg | thebirchwood.com/thecanopy

Although their brunch menu is on the smaller side, the views almost certainly make up for it. From an unobstructed view of Tampa Bay to downtown St. Petersburg skyline, you probably won’t even be paying much attention to the food on your plate.

Just in case you are paying attention to what’s on your plate, The Canopy offers a select menu featuring three items for you to enjoy. The Breakfast Flatbread is a filling meal of a flatbread with the chef’s selection of toppings, as is The Canopy Breakfast of two eggs, bacon, toast, and red potato-sofrito hash. The cinnamon spiced Pecan Sticky Bun is a lighter choice, but a great one if you’re saving room for drinks or if you’re just craving a little something sweet to share after a savory plate.

Speaking of drinks, they have all of your favorites and more. You can even get Frose (frozen rose)!

With an unobstructed bay view, sticky buns, and drinks, this rooftop experience is hard to pass up. You won’t get a view like this - let alone along with food and drink - anywhere else in Tampa! Go to The Canopy on Saturdays and Sundays from 11am - 4pm for brunch!

You can purchase a GiftYa for The Canopy here!

“Open air. Roof top. Water views. Beer. Cocktails. When you combine those.. It's a win! The Canopy never disappoints. Obviously, the big draw is the view and open air. This is the absolute best rooftop bar in downtown St Petersburg.” - Yelp Review

2. Bulla Gastrobar

Spanish tapas style brunch

930 S Howard Ave | Tampa | bullagastrobar.com

This restaurant specializes in Spanish tapas, and it’s no different when it comes to brunch.

But what does Spanish tapas style brunch look like, you may ask? Here’s an idea. For the Brunch Prix Fixe (which costs $28), you receive a three course meal. The best part is that you select each of your first, second, and third courses.

First course items include Smoked Salmon Montaditos, Croquetas de Jamón, and even the classic Avocado Toast. Second course items are a little more substantial, such as the Huevos Bravos and Bulla Benedict. Lastly, you finish off with something sweet off of the third course menu. We recommend the Hazelnut Waffles - they’re delicious!

Bottomless sangrias and mimosas are $18 per person, so it’s quite a deal to get the Brunch Prix Fixe and bottomless drinks for less than $50.

However, if you’re not up for a three course brunch, you can order individual plates such as the Shrimp Omelet or Brunch Paella.

Although brunch isn’t served on the rooftop, all you have to do to soak in the amazing views is walk right upstairs to the Luna Lounge. Here, you can continue brunch drinking or dive into some late afternoon tapas - if you’re still hungry that is!

You can purchase a GiftYa for Bulla Gastrobar here!

“Made a reservation for brunch today, and honey let me tell you 'bout my new favorite spot. 1. Bottomless sangria - 4 types to try! 2. A prix fixe brunch menu. The third course was a literal taste of heaven.” - Yelp Review

3. The Attic Cafe & Bar

Rooftop coffee shop and bar

500 E Kennedy Blvd | Downtown Tampa | atticcafe.net

Coffee and drinks? On a rooftop? Need we say more?

In case you need a little more convincing to go to The Attic, we’ll divulge all we know about this rooftop cafe and bar.

They serve a variety of beverages and craft food, but they believe their atmosphere is their speciality, and rightfully so given their location on a rooftop in the heart of Downtown Tampa.

But back to the food, from Breakfast Tacos and Chicken and Waffles to Vegan Pancakes and Apple Cinnamon French Toast Casserole, they’ve got both your sweet and savory cravings covered. We highly recommend the Pancakes & Eggs, which comes with one pancake, two eggs any style, hash browns, and a choice of bacon or sausage so that you can get the best of both worlds.

As for drinks, their bottomless mimosas are only $20. They also have sangria, beer, and wine. If you’d prefer coffee, they offer hot or iced coffee, lattes, and more. They even have milk alternatives and tasty flavored syrups from hazelnut and mocha to seasonal flavors!

We love this spot because you can get alcohol, coffee, or both! Everyone in your group can drink what they’d like - no pressure.

“A hidden gem within downtown that offers a great view of the downtown skyline from their outdoor patio. Their menu has plenty of breakfast offerings. Overall, a great spot to grab breakfast/brunch that not many people know about.” - Yelp Review

4. M. Bird

Tropical deco-inspired rooftop lounge

1903 Market St | Tampa | mbirdtampa.com

Perched above the historic Armature Works is this deco-inspired rooftop lounge. Here you will find a short and sweet brunch menu, live music, and waterfront views of Tampa’s ever-growing cityscape.

M. Bird offers brunch on Saturdays and Sundays from 12 - 4pm with a live DJ on Saturdays from 1 - 5pm and Sundays 2 - 6pm.

As for what’s on the menu, you can enjoy the Smoked Salmon with avocado puree, radish, cucumber, a soft boiled egg, and avocado lime crema, a Mini Quiche with your choice of vegetarian goat cheese or Nueske bacon baked quiche, or a Breakfast Burrito stuffed with chorizo, scrambled eggs, Monterrey Jack and cheddar cheese, pico de gallo, and avocado lime crema served with a side of adobo tortilla chips. We highly recommend the Breakfast Burrito, but really anything with their avocado lime crema is to die for.

Drinks are the usual - mimosas and Bloody Marys - but we’re not complaining! They also serve French 75 which is gin, bubbles, and lemon.

Although we are partial to brunch, M. Bird is a great spot for dinner and late nights as well. You should come whenever you get to soak up the views and enjoy live music, good food, and strong drink.

“This place really surprised me. I ended up getting the jerk chicken egg rolls and they were fire. And it's such a beautiful view up there it's the perfect place to go at night just to overlook the city!” - Yelp Review

5. Sal Y Mar

Unconventional old-world inspired rooftop experience

3650 Midtown Dr | Tampa | salymarrooftop.com

Sal y Mar, meaning “salt and sea,” is an unconventional rooftop experience inspired by the Riviera Maya town of Tulum. Here, you will find a setting and menu rich in old-world influence where guests can mingle effortlessly against the 360 degree views of the Tampa, Westshore, and St. Petersburg skylines.

Brunch tapas include the Frittata Tulum, a cheesy egg frittata with sausage, onions, potatoes, and peppers and the Shrimp and Grits, cheesy grits with spicy shrimp, Nueske’s bacon, and green onions.

Starters like the Breakfast Board, a tray filled with fresh berries, honeycomb, strawberry jam, assorted crackers, and chef’s choice meats and cheeses, and the Fruity French Toast made with brioche bread, mascarpone, and mango blackberry syrup are also great for sharing with the table.

Sal y Mar’s brunch deal is a steal: one starter, one brunch tapa, one side, and one cocktail from a choice of either a mimosa, bellini, Bloody Mary, or wine punch for $45. If you go with the brunch deal, be sure to get a side of seasoned breakfast potatoes. They are the perfect side to complement the sweet fruit-heavy starters or to be eaten alongside a savory tapa such as the BYO Smash Burger.

“Very pretty place on the 7th floor rooftop. Complimentary house-made chips and dip are served with drinks. Ordered the Rosabella, the Sal y Margarita and the charcuterie board. The margarita is spicy and homemade.” - Yelp Review

6. TopGolf Rooftop Terrace

Hidden gem brunch spot

10690 Palm River Rd | Tampa | topgolf.com

This rooftop terrace, located on the rooftop of the TopGolf in Tampa, is a brunch-lover’s hidden gem. Here, you can enjoy all of the brunch food and drink offerings you would get when you play TopGolf with the addition of stunning rooftop views, firepits, and comfy lounge seating.

Brunch is served until 2 pm. You can get a Breakfast Burrito made up of scrambled eggs, bacon, breakfast sausage, and cheddar cheese or a Breakfast Hash Skillet with peppers, potatoes, cheddar cheese, and eggs.

If you’d prefer something sweet, our hack is to order the Injectable Donut Holes off of the dessert menu. These cinnamon-sugar dusted donut holes are delicious on their own, but once “injected” with your choice of two flavors from chocolate sauce, raspberry jelly, or Bavarian cream, they are truly out of this world.

The usual brunch drinks like mimosas and Bloody Marys are offered, but you may want to step out of your comfort zone and try some of their specialty drinks. Their Orange Dream has orange juice in it, which basically makes it an acceptable brunch drink, right? Their Trop’ Fruit Mai Tai and their Spiked Strawberry Lemonade also make great brunch drinks.

They also serve Golfbags to share with a party of two or more. These drinks are served in a giant take-home cup. You can either get the Pineapple Punch (Captain Morgan Spiced Rum, Malibu Coconut Rum, Monin Ginger, pineapple juice, and lemonade) or the Blue Berry Bash (SKYY Raspberry Vodka, BOMBAY SAPPHIRE Gin, Chambord, Citrus Sour, Blackberry Réal, and lemon).

This is a great spot to hang out while you’re waiting for your bay to open up or to continue your party after a couple rounds of TopGolf. And if you come for the drinks instead of the golf, we so get that!

You can purchase a GiftYa for TopGolf here!

“We love hitting up Top Golf as a family first thing on a Sunday morning because it's a little bit cheaper. We also love that they have extra space to chill, restaurant seating and a full bar!” - Yelp Review
