But enough about how handy and convenient GiftYa are, let’s get to that list of great restaurants in Big Sky Montana that brought you here!

1 - Riverhouse BBQ & Events

Hands Down the Best BBQ You Can Find In Big Sky!

45130 Gallatin Rd | Big Sky | riverhousebbq.com

Riverhouse BBQ & Events comes in at number one on my list of great restaurants you can find in Big Sky Montana for a couple of reasons. First of all they obviously have a very high amount of positive customer feedback. Which lets me know that they are doing things well very consistently. And it also lets me know that not only are they meeting their customers expectations, but are oftentimes exceeding them. Which means if you stop in for a meal you don’t have to worry that you aren’t going to have an incredible experience.

And they’ve been delivering an incredible experience for over a decade. And in the time since they opened in 2013 they have grown to be one of Big Sky’s favorite dining establishments. And it’s easy to see why. As you might have guessed they serve Texas style BBQ where all the meat is dry rubbed with their secret blend of seasoning and spice. And after the meat is ready, they slowly smoke it over mesquite wood to give it that authentic smoky flavor.

They are open 7 nights a week. Their hours have changed recently and now they are serving food from 3 PM to 9 PM every day of the week. If you are a BBQ lover, or even just somebody who is looking for their next great meal, you aren’t going to be able to go wrong when you stop in at Riverhouse BBQ & Events the next time you are in Big Sky!

“Staying in the area and wanted to eat at a good local place...this is it! Food, drinks, views & service was great! I had the brisket plate & my wife had the baby back ribs and both were awesome and very affordable for the area! Highly recommend!” - Yelp Review

2 - Horn and Cantle

Brand New Seasonally Driven Menu Style Restaurant and Steakhouse

750 Lone Mountain Ranch Rd | Big Sky | lonemountainranch.com/horn-cantle

Located at Lone Mountain Ranch, Horn and Cantle is one of the area's best new restaurants and saloons. You can expect to get some of the best steaks you can find in the area here. And you can even feel good about it when you eat it. Horn and Cantle has a deep commitment to providing locally sourced food that comes right to the farm to your table. So you can feel good about the dollar you spend here because you know not only is it going to an ethical local business, it is then being passed on by the busy and supporting local farmers and businesses!

And as such, they have a season menu that is inspired by local Montana wildlife and vegetation. So not only can you get all the cuts of steak that you might like, you can also get everything from elk meatballs and bolognese to bison short ribs. If you are looking to truly experience everything Big Sky Montana has to offer then you owe it to yourself to stop in at Horn and Cantle and experience it for yourself!

And to top it all off, it’s nestled nicely between Big Sky and Yellowstone National Park which makes it a great destination anytime you are visiting either.

They have great updated log cabins that you can rent out to spend time enjoying all the activities they have for both kids and adults. But more than anything you’re going to want to try some of their incredible made-from-scratch food that they serve up in McGill's Restaurant and saloon. Their hours can change with the season so before you check out their hours whenever you plan a visit.

“Exceptional meal from start to finish. We had the mushroom appetizer, the filet, the shrimp and grits, the apple pie bread pudding, and the mud pie.  All were excellent.  I spent a week recently in Charleston and had Shrimp and Grits at all the top spots. These were waaaaaay better.” - Yelp Review

A Great Cafe for Brunch, Breakfast, and Burgers

47995 Gallatin Rd | Gallatin Gateway | cafe191bigsky.com

Cafe 191 is another great cafe style restaurant you can find in the Big Sky area. They have all the standard cafe style food you might expect. Coffee, pastries. Breakfast sandwiches, sandwiches for lunch, and plenty of incredible burgers, salads, and sides. They even have a separate kids menu for both breakfast and lunch which I think makes this a really accessible place for families and parents when they are looking for somewhere great to eat in Big Sky that isn’t a fancy steakhouse where kids won’t be as welcomed.

“Damn good breakfast.  Biscuits were huge and homemade.  Service and atmosphere were awesome.” - Yelp Review

7 - By Word of Mouth

One of the Staples of the Big Sky Restaurant Scene for Over 25 Years!

77 Aspen Leaf Dr | Big Sky | bywombywordofmouth.com

By Word of Mouth has been one of the best restaurants in the Big Sky area for over 25 years now. And it’s easy to see why. They serve a pretty interesting menu of upscale modern American cuisine. I genuinely am having a hard time trying to summarize it and put it into words, so I’ll just let you know they have everything from goat cheese dip to bacon jam and calamari. I would give their menu a look to see if anything stands out to you. It all honestly sounds a little strange to me, but also pretty delicious as well, which is a combination I don’t usually come across. I firmly believe this is one of those restaurants you have to try for yourself and experience in person.

“Fun addition to the Big Sky area. French onion soup was the highlight. Cute and comfortable atmosphere. Definitely recommend” - Yelp Review
