In Las Vegas But Bars Aren’t Your Scene? Try Museums!

A List of the Best Museums You Can Find In The Entertainment Capital of the World

Las Vegas is a beautiful city in Nevada. In fact it’s the largest city in the whole state by a pretty significant margin. And as you might expect from the most populous city in a state, Las Vegas is filled with all kinds of fantastic bars and restaurants. If you want to find the perfect bar or restaurant for your night out in Las Vegas, or even just a nice lunch one afternoon, you are sure to find what you are looking for.

However, unlike every other big city on the map, Las Vegas has one very important feature that makes it stand out from the rest. And that is that it is the “Gambling Capital of the World”... Errr…. Uh... Sorry, what I mean to say is that, it is the “Entertainment Capital of the World!.” Yeah that sounds way more family friendly, so I’m going with that.

And as the entertainment capital of the world, Las Vegas is filled with all kinds of casinos and shows and bars and hotels and on and on and on. However, you ended up on my weird little webpage about the best museums to visit while you are in Las Vegas. And as such I’m gonna assume you’re an introvert who got suckered into going to Vegas with a bunch of extroverted friends and are looking for something quiet to do during the day.

Or maybe you are one of the people who wants to see the nice clean and family-friendly 21st Century Las Vegas with family and friends. And since you can’t take kids to bars and casinos you need something fun, and maybe even slightly informative, to do during the day. Well not to worry, today I’m going to discuss where to find the best museums in Las Vegas.

I’ll give you the address and website to all of these locations so that way you can check out what they have to offer more in-depth, or stop by if something really catches your eye. In addition to telling you where the best museums are in Las Vegas, I’m also going to tell you which of these museums accept GiftYa digital gift cards.

You don’t need to worry when you’re in Vegas looking for restaurants, stores, attractions, and museums. You can check out GiftYa and search for gift cards by Las Vegas and find everything they offer in Las Vegas. The cool thing about this is that you can get a GiftYa digital gift card for you or a loved one and send it wirelessly in seconds. Anytime you, or they, are in Las Vegas looking for museums or other attractions.  Not only can you send and receive a GiftYa wireless, you can also keep track of the balance all right from your phone.

Unlike a standard gift card where you have to write the balance on the back everytime you use it, a GiftYa keeps track for you on your phone all the time, And let’s be honest, isn’t it way more likely that you will be out and about with your phone than with your gift card? Your loved one is also much more likely to have their phone on them than a gift card if you are sending on e for a birthday or celebration to a younger relative, You can count on kids and college students to always have their phones on them, but can you really count on them to have a gift card you send them.

Not to mention their digital format makes GiftYa perfect anytime you want to send a gift card with a large sum to a loved one in Las Vegas *wink wink.* With a GiftYa there’s no writing multiple balances all over a card and hoping you can keep it organized. You also don’t have to worry about the card being lost or stolen with a GiftYa.

You can keep track of them all digitally. So you don’t even have to deliver them in person to know they got there in time. There’s no relying on the Postal Service and hoping they don’t lose it or delay it before your loved ones' big day or celebration. And I’m sure you’ve noticed more and more restaurants going with digital menus and options. Don’t be embarrassed at a modern 21st Century establishment by handing over a clunky plastic gift card when you can upgrade to a sleek digital format today.

Zak Bagans’ The Haunted Museum

The Most Fun Museum In Las vegas

600 E Charleston Blvd | Downtown | thehauntedmuseum.com

I mean, I’m not actually sure I even need to explain this particular museum. I feel like the official name for it, kind of gives it away right? I mean it’s a haunted museum. If you are in Las Vegas and you want something fun to do during the day then this spot should definitely be at the top of your must see spots. And everybody really seems to enjoy the Haunted Museum. It’s got a four and a half star rating on Yelp with over 1500 reviews.

But if you must know… Zak Bagan’s offers paranormal enthusiasts of all ages something to enjoy. During your revisit you can expect a tour-guided experience into more than 30 rooms that rival scenes from classic Hollywood horror films. And many of these rooms feature frightening and cursed items from the history of the paranormal.

“Not for the faint of heart! Come one, come all who are fans of anything strange and peculiar! This oddities meets horror museum is a great experience for those that can make it all the way through! … The general guided tour gave me everything I wanted and more! The people that show you around are helpful and informative, very insightful experiences! They play the part too well.

Overall, highly recommended and would absolutely come back for more scares!” - Yelp Review

Zak Bagan’s The Haunted Mansion isn’t accepting GiftYa digital gift cards just yet, but check here for all the other GiftYa available for best museums in Las Vegas

The Mob Museum

The Most Informative Museum In Las Vegas

300 Stewart Ave | Downtown | themobmuseum.org/

The Mob Museum is also unusually highly rated on Yelp. And the Mob Museum also feels like the title is a little self explanatory. But nonetheless, I feel that it deserves the number two spot on the list today for a couple of reasons.

First of all, I am utterly and completely biased as I am a huge fan of mobster and gangster movies. But I understand that while Hollywood tends to glorify organized crime, the reality is that organized crime is a hugely disruptive force in American history. And at this museum you will see the way organized crime developed and organized itself over the years, but you will also see the stories of the brave law enforcement officers who had to risk it all going up against such large and well supplied criminal enterprises. If you have even a fleeting interest in American history, organized crime, law enforcement, or the history of Las Vegas itself, you'll for sure want to add the mob museum to your list of activities.

“Had an absolutely excellent time! This is a great place to spend hours. It is interesting and has some excellent background information that dispels a lot of myths and stereotypes about Vegas and the Mob.

The staff is awesome and helpful. And the speakeasy in the basement is cool.” - Yelp Review

The Mob Museum doesn’t offer GiftYa digital gift cards just yet, but check back soon because we are always adding the best museums and attractions in Las Vegas!

Neon Museum

Best Outdoor Museum In Las vegas

770 North Las Vegas Blvd | Las Vegas | www.neonmuseum.org

Another restaurant's title is just a little bit on the nose. Needless to say if you visit the neon museum you are going to find a museum of, yup that’s right, neon signs and advertisements. Now this sort of thing wouldn’t normally be my speed, but honestly, it kind of sounds like a real life outdoor version of Zapp's Neon Signs from Fallout: New Vegas. So to me, it seems like a chance to see some of the unique and creative artistic expression that was exhibited on the Las Vegas strip over the years. You can gain a very unique insight into the different decades and eras of Vegas by seeing the advertisements and signs that were popular during the era.

“A really neat historical OUTDOOR museum. One can see all the old casino and hotel signs from over 60 years ago. Make sure to book in advance because the spots fill up fast. … I did the early daytime tour so it wouldn't be too hot and sunny. But one can do a nigh-time tour as well.

I highly recommend this activity.” - Yelp Review

As always we’re busy adding attractions and the best museums in Las Vegas to GiftYa all the time but you can’t get one for the Neon Museum just yet. Check back soon.

Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Garden

Most Breathtaking Museum In Las vegas

3600 S Las Vegas Blvd | The Strip | bellagio.mgmresorts.com

I mean what else do you need to hear? It’s the Bellagio Botanical Garden. I mean it just has to be cool right? And I can tell you from the countless positive reviews, along with the breathtaking photos every reviewer seems to get, that you will not be disappointed. I mean, it’s difficult to provide breathtaking views indoors, but that is exactly what the Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical garden manages to do. There are rooms that will literally leave you breathless when you walk in.

“The Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Garden is one of those spots in Vegas that you simply MUST stop at if you're visiting!

They decorate the garden with each season so it's always changing and every time I've visited I've been blown away by how beautiful the designs are! Bellagio really goes above and beyond with everything they do… Definitely add this to your list of must-sees! You won't regret it!” - Yelp Review

You can’t get a digital GiftYa gift card to Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Garden at the moment but be sure to check back soon as new best museums and locations in Las Vegas are added all the time!

Marvel’s Avengers Station

3300 Las Vegas Blvd | The Strip | www.stationattraction.com

Once again, I might be a little biased in favor of promoting something Marvel related since I’ve been a lifelong fan, but I figure the fact they keep putting out billion dollar movies three times a year must mean other people love the Avengers too!. So if you are in Vegas and you are looking for something fun to do, and you have a comic fan in your group or party, then you aren’t going to want to miss out on Marvel’s Avengers Station right on the strip in Las Vegas!

“Was such an AMAZING experience. Will definitely be coming again! It's fun for all ages and exciting from start to finish!” - Yelp Review

Unfortunately Marvel’s Avengers Station isn’t one of the best museums in Las Vegas participating with GiftYa just yet, but check back soon cause they might be any day now.

AREA15

3215 S Rancho Dr | Westside | area15.com

Area 15 is basically a kid’s dream playground, but built for the size of adults. As somebody who was always tall for his age I grew out of many children sized playgrounds pretty young. The idea that somebody built a playground that is built for people that are adult sized seems really fun to me. I imagine this is a museum you only want to stop by if you are ready for a day of exercise.

“Area 15 is great if you're looking for something different to do in Vegas. It's basically an adult playground comprised of multiple different experiences. Be aware that each experience costs money on its own and they are pricey, so I would plan to only do one thing inside. ” - Yelp Review

Right now you aren’t able to get a GiftYa digital gift card to AREA15 but check back because there’s more best museums and stores in Las Vegas added all the time.

There ya go, that’s a list of the museums that looked the most interesting or most fun to me in the city of Las vegas. And frankly I think I deserve a round of applause for not referencing Fear and Loathing or Fallout: New Vegas a single time in this whole article. I hope you found at least one museum on our list that fit the bill of what you were looking for. And if not, be sure to check out our other articles on great things to do in Las Vegas.
