1. Gritz

Gritz Cafe has been serving up Southern cuisine in Las Vegas since 2008, and is always there to satisfy your hunger. It is open daily from 7am to 3pm, and has been voted as one of Las Vegas’ best soul food restaurants. This restaurant is small but mighty, and will show you some true southern hospitality when you visit. 

As you can see from the name, this restaurant is all about grits. They make sure to prepare them just right for everybody who would like some, and they make sure that every customer that walks through has a unique experience. House of Dutch Pot is a black-owned restaurant that offers up original flavors, imported spices, and absolutely delicious food. They serve Caribbean food that will have you hungry to go back for more, and they offer plenty of options to choose from as well. 

This restaurant will offer you a taste of the Caribbean in every bite you take, and in every sip. They offer drinks like island fruit punch and pineapple ginger, and even pineapple sea moss. You’ll get to drink like the islanders, something that you don’t get to do in every Caribbean restaurant in the U.S. And aside from the amazing drinks, you’ll get to enjoy oxtail tacos, curried goat, oxtail fried rice, and a lot more Caribbean crossover dishes. 

“I ordered from this restaurant during my trip to Vegas in the first week of January, and it was possibly the best Caribbean food I've ever tasted. I'm from the bay area and we have limited caribbean spots-this restaurant trumps all of them. I had ordered the large brown stewed chicken, rice and peas, and mac and cheese and everything was scrumptious. They offer turkey legs with any kind of topping you can think of, from the Nola dirty bird which is topped with dirty rice, creole cream sauce, and crawfish, or the godfather which is topped with alfredo pasta, blackened shrimp, and parmesan flakes.

You can get a whole lot of food for a very low price, from wings to BBQ and fried catfish. So if you stop by this spot you will find out that the hype is more than real!

“We couldn't leave Vegas without trying Sista Kim's. We arrived 15 mins before closing and the lady at front was so nice and patient as we made our choice and helped us with the menu. I got 2 fish, 4 shrimp, 4 wings, and 2 sides with a Koolaid all for $30. Thats not too bad for so much food. Our food was made fresh and was delicious!!! So happy we made the trip. The recipes this restaurant serves have been passed through the family for generations, and they will make you feel at home. 

Some of the menu items you can enjoy at EllaEm’s include favorites like pork chops and oxtails, house specials like country fried steak and wings n’ waffles, and food for the soul, which includes things like fried chicken and meatloaf. At this spot, you can dine in or order takeout, and you will even have the option to smoke some hookah, a very new addition to the restaurant. They offer a dining menu, a personal chef menu, and a catering menu. The dining menu offers grits all day, lobster angus and catfish sliders for appetizers, and soul pasta and fried chicken bowls for an entree.

10. DB’s Cajun Kitchen

DB’s Cajun Kitchen is a popular spot with great food and a fun staff. On top of great food, they have a fun online series that shows you just what’s happening behind the scenes. It is the type of place that you know you can have a great time in! 

When you get to DB’s, you need to grab a menu and try their signature fries, which come as gumbo fries, bourbon fries, and more, their signature po boys packed with lobster, sausage, or catfish, or their signature egg rolls and desserts. Some of DB’s food inventions are like nothing you’ve ever seen, and you’ll especially see that in their dessert, where you can get yam eggrolls and peach cobbler nachos!
