We touched on it very briefly in the intro but we thought we’d delve further into how credit cards work because it seems like more and more young adults are just supposed to automatically know how things work without ever actually being told in the first place.

How the credit card companies make money is through something called interest. Interest is essentially a fee that you will have to pay if you don’t pay back your statement in full. The companies will charge you a set amount of interest until you pay back everything. To avoid that you will need to treat your credit card as you would a debit card or cash in your wallet, aka only paying for what you can afford.
