And while they are known for their coffee, they are also widely known for their fluffy beignets. Here’s the brief history of beignets behind Café Du Monde: Beignets were brought to Louisiana by the Acadians. The original beignets were fried fritters, sometimes filled with fruit. Today, the beignet is a square piece of dough, fried and covered with powdered sugar. This is a must-go if you are visiting New Orleans!

Menu favorites include the Brioche French Toast and the Seafood Penne Pasta—creamy penne pasta served with shrimp and crawfish and seasonal veggies!
