1. Thoroughbred Golf Course

Thoroughbred Golf Course is a golf course that began operating in Rothbury in the 90s. This golf course has a unique feature to the ones you would find in most places, horseback riders passing through it. The horseback riders also have the right of way, so be prepared to stop if a horse crosses your golf cart’s path! 

This golf court is large and surrounded by gorgeous trees that you will have a great time moving through. You can walk around and enjoy the sight of trees, horses, and even a cranberry bog. This golf course was even included on a list of the hardest 18 holes in Michigan, so if you’re an experienced golfer, you get to really test your skills there.

2. Double JJ Resort

At this resort you will get to choose your own adventure, and that adventure is bound to end up amazing.

There are many great Michigan attractions nearby, the 60,000 square feet gold rush water park, fine American dining, and golf. “We just got back from our first visit to Double JJ Resort. Don't be taken back by the outdated outside of the resort. Inside was amazing! We LOVED IT! We got the 2 story condo. So clean, everyone was SO friendly! This is a great weekend get away. The restaurant onsite had delicious food! The indoor water park was great with multiple slides, just remember to bring your own towels! Outdoor was a basic old school pool with a waterslide that goes through a barn. Super cool for the kids. 3. Michigan’s Adventure

A fun park with rides for the whole family.

Michigan’s Adventure is the state’s largest amusement park. When you visit you will find 60 top notch rides to enjoy. There are slides, roller coasters, and other cool rides and attractions. 

You can take the whole family down and have a blast making your way through the park. Get on the high flying thrill rides or the wild water adventure rides, or go back and forth. There are rides there for everyone, even the smallest family members. Camp Snoopy has plenty for them to enjoy, and the rest of the park has something for everyone.

4. Stony Lake Stables

Horse rides that take you through lush greenery.

Stony Lake Stables brings a piece of the Old West right to Michigan. Whether you’re a seasoned horseback rider or a beginner, you can join them on horseback rides through the countryside’s lush scenery. You can always come with a group or simply join one to learn the basics of horseback riding. 

You can ride by yourself or with your small kids for over an hour, and enjoy everything that the nature in the area has to offer. They open for the season on May 4th and will be around all summer long!

Lewis Adventure Farm & Zoo will let you join the fun at their fifth generation farm. It is a 700 acre farm that has a fruit farm, a corn maze, a petting zoo, and more. You will also get to experience top festivals and other fun events depending on when you visit the farm. It is a place that will have you having fun while being active.  

This farm also offers great photo ops and places to eat great food. You can enjoy freshly made donuts, specialty sundaes, and more. There are also plenty of thrilling attractions that you can see, including lemurs, kangaroos

6. Oceana Winery & Vineyard

Oceana Winery & Vineyard is a boutique winery near Rothbury that really shows off their passion for wine. If you’re a wine lover, you will have an amazing time if you visit this place. They use top quality grapes to craft their wines, and will show you their process and let you enjoy the results. They also have something for everybody!

If you like sweet wine but go with someone who likes dry wine, both of you will be satisfied at this winery. They offer a large selection of wines, everything from dry to sweet and white to red, and you get to relax and taste them while you enjoy the country scenery.

7. Cherry Point Farm and Market

A farm that is filled with cherries and cherry desserts.

Visit Cherry Point Farm and Market to have fun at a farm that is big and bountiful. The farm is bright and colorful, and you can enjoy the sights of all the plants and crops that grow there. The bright sun, the sand, and the shore in the area all make an impact on the feel of this farm. 

This farm is near sandy dunes and white sand beaches, so you can have a lot of fun and enjoy great views in and outside of the farm. People from all over go down to Cherry Point Farm to swim, fish, sail, and more. It is located in an area known as Little Point Sable, and you can join them for a fish boil, an walk through their labyrinth and herb garden, and a nice meal.You can enjoy some of their many cherry filled offerings like cherry strudels and cherry turnovers.
