We thought we’d first go over the best accessible “hotel” options for Electric Forest goers since that may be why a certain number of you are here. The team behind the event have accommodations on-site available to all Electric Forest patrons, there are a lot of options but we will go over the basics so you can get an idea of what it’s like.

  • There is an array of campgrounds, each varying in what it has to offer (some are in slightly more remote parts of the grounds, while others are closer to the Forest itself), but the most common are the General Admission Campgrounds also known as the GA Campgrounds which are located on the west side of Festival Venue, with access via the Main Venue Entrance near Tripolee. There’s rest rooms & showers, ice sales, a general store, the Official Forest Goods store, and easy access to main street where you’ll find food vendors, no-profit organizations, craft tents, and more. There are vehicle and RV passes if you plan to bring either, or you can just bring a tent. 
  • Then there are options for those who aren’t so used to camping and need a bit more comfort while in the Forest and their Good Life Electric Avenue option might just be for you as they are Pre-Set Tents that come with power outlets for all your charging needs. You also get bedding and furniture sets, exclusive air-conditioned restrooms, exclusive Electric Avenue shaded lounge, and access to the Good Life Village amenities, lounges, early arrival, and 24 hour Electric Avenue concierge.

2. Comfort Inn Whitehall

A convenient and easy 10 minute drive from the heart of Rothbury is Comfort Inn Whitehall, a 2 star Choice Hotel that has exactly what you need to make a non-fussy stay in town. There are hundreds of really great reviews boasting about the friendly staff and amenities like indoor pool, fitness center, 24 hour front desk service, self-serve laundry, and the perk of kids being able to stay for free.

There are 74 rooms arranged over three floors. You’ll have your choice of rooms with 1 King Bed, standard rooms with 2 Queen Beds, or their suites which come with multiple beds and amenities like a refrigerator and microwave. Pretty standard run of the mill room choices for this hotel option. We’ve found that you’ll typically spend around $90 to $120 per night.

3. The Weathervane Inn

For those who are on their way to visit Lake Michigan you can’t get much better than The Weathervane Inn which is their lakefront hotel that’s the perfect choice for your vacation. This 2 star hotel has great views of the water and boats lined up at the harbor. Lots of positive reviews raving about the quiet rooms, clean rooms, and amenities like the 24 hour front desk service, garden, terraces, housekeeping on request, snack bar, and kids being able to stay for free. 

There are 23 rooms arranged over two floors which makes for a wonderfully relatively private stay while in town. You’ll have your choice of rooms with their “Classic” options which get you views of the city with either one or two beds, deluxe lakeview rooms- some coming with their own kitchen area, or the premium room which is on the corner that has its own terrace. 4. Dunes Express Inn & Suites

You might find some similarities between the Dunes Express Inn & Suites and a Comfort Inn because this hotel was once a Comfort Inn, now it is a leisure hotel that makes for a great stay particularly for nature lovers as it is very close to the Hart-Montague Trail State Park and only seven miles from the Silver Lake Sand Dunes. This two star hotel has lots of good reviews mainly talking about their amenities like daily housekeeping, indoor pool, spa tub, 24 hour front desk service, picnic area, and location. 

This hotel has 61 rooms available and you’ll be able to choose from a room with two Queen Beds- with or without a balcony, a deluxe room with 1 King Bed and 1 Queen Bed, a suite, a deluxe room with a kitchenette, and other standard hotel rooms. Less than 20 minutes away from the Electric Forest is the American Host Inn which is a 2 star hotel that’s local to Michigan. According to their website they have had an “Award for Excellence Seven Consecutive Years” which is great to hear about a hotel you are looking to stay at. There have been many good reviews boasting about the friendly staff and clean rooms. Amenities include 24 hour front desk service, concierge services, a charcoal grill, air conditioning, and housekeeping once per your stay. 

This hotel has 22 rooms available and you’ll be able to choose from their luxury single room which consists of one bed, their luxury double room which has two beds, a senior single room, and their luxury suite with a city view. We’ve found that you’ll typically spend around $80 to $100 per night.

6. Michillinda Lodge

This is probably our most unique “hotel” on the list as it’s not your traditional hotel, it’s instead a lodge, more specifically the Michillinda Lodge which is a little under 25 minutes away from Rothbury and Electric Forest. This cottage has a lot of amazing reviews where people mention amenities like daily housekeeping, outdoor tennis court, seasonal pool, picnic area, laundry services, and more.

This lodge has 27 rooms for you to pick from with various sizes, you can have up to 3 bedrooms and your choice of staying in one of their cabins, hillside spots, chalets, the lakefront guest house, surfside, or annex. These rooms are best looked at from the website.

This hotel has a direct link to Electric Forest goers as they have their Good Life Hotel Packages which is their “limited Good Life Hotel Packages that include a shuttle service with the comfort and amenities provided by the hotel partner.” You get to enjoy a five night stay at the Michillinda Lodge, located in nearby Whitehall on the shores of Lake Michigan with this package. We’re going a bit outside Rothbury for these next two hotels and first up is the Shoreline Inn & Conference Center, Ascend Hotel Collection. This beautiful hotel is in front of Muskegon Lake and inland Muskegon which means you can explore the town and enjoy the lake views before you head up to Rothbury. This three star hotel has got a number of excellent reviews, their amenities include two restaurants and two bar/lounge areas, daily housekeeping, a 24 hour business center, indoor pool and two spa tubs, and kids get to stay for free.

This hotel has 140 rooms arranged over ten floors. You’ve got your choice of a standard room with 1 King Bed, rooms with 2 Queen Beds, suites, and more. Again, pretty run of the mill hotel rooms, but with great views and plenty of variety. We’ve found that you’ll typically spend around $110 to $150 per night.

8. Delta Hotels Muskegon Convention Center

Secondly we have Delta Hotels Muskegon Convention Center which is close to a half hour away from the Electric Forest but is in Muskegon town center where you’ll get a great view of the water and city. This three star hotel has a lot of great reviews talking about the amenities like daily housekeeping, in-house restaurant and bar/lounge, indoor pool, fitness center, 24 hour front desk service, conference and business center, computer station, and free accommodations for kids.

This hotel has 200 rooms arranged over eight floors. You have your standard pick of hotel rooms with this option as they have guest rooms with 1 King Bed or 2 Queen Beds, a single Queen room, a 1 Bedroom Suite, and 1 Bedroom Executive Suite. We’ve found that you’ll typically spend around $130 to $180 per night.
