4. Pinnacle Peak

Mesquite steak meets vintage cowboy vibe

6541 E Tanque Verde | Tucson | pinnaclepeaktucson.com

Pinnacle Peak is home of the World Famous Mesquite-Grilled Cowboy Steak, and has been since 1962! What is a Cowboy Steak, you may ask? It’s a flavorful steak cut from the short loin and cooked over a real mesquite fire by master grillers. “Real cowboys” have it medium rare. And don’t forget to save the tenderloin side for last (it’s an authentic Old West dessert!).

We really enjoy their fun cocktails as well, like the Golden Margarita, Prickly Pear Margarita, and Teuila Fresca. But hey, we don’t only like margaritas. We also recommend the Cowboy Cocktail, the Cowgirl Cocktail, and the Tucson Sunset. Beer and red or white wine are also available.

“I had the cowboy steak and it was delicious. For the value and the ambience this is a good place to eat some steak. Our server named Armando was excellent.” - Yelp Review

5. Charro Steak & del Rey

Tucson's most sustainable steak and seafood

188 E Broadway Blvd | Tucson | charrosteak.com

Can steak and seafood be sustainable? The answer is yes - at Charro Steak & del Rey at least. Charro Steak & del Rey is Tucson's only restaurant serving 100% grass fed mesquite grilled steak, sustainable seafood, and cage free poultry. They are also committed to buying local whenever possible and have a special partnership with The University of Arizona’s Community School Gardening Program.

We recommend starting off with the Tableside Guacamole and Prickly Pear Glazed Albondigas before diving into the steak and seafood. For steak, we recommend the Chef’s Cut, and for seafood, we recommend either the Lobster Tamalada or the Tequila’d Trout.

6. The Horseshoe Grill

Mesquite smoking and grilling

7713 E Broadway Blvd | Tucson | thehorseshoetucson.com

With brisket, pulled pork, sausage, chicken wings and more mesquite smoked daily, as well as steak, burgers, and fish grilled on a live mesquite fire, there’s really nothing more you could ask for at this restaurant. But they don’t stop there - they also serve only grass fed, grain finished meat. They are proud to serve the highest quality meat possible because quality wood fired cooking begins with quality meat.

Begin with the Fried Pickles, dill pickle caps breaded and fried with a side of chipotle ranch, or the Burnt Ends, cubed pork belly caramelized with their THG BBQ sauce and house-rub. Then move on to the meat! Whether you get Wood Fired Steak, a THG BBQ Meat Plate, Grilled Chicken, or a Burger, make sure you get a side of Fresh Cut Fries or Onion Rings.

150 W Wetmore Rd | Tucson | churrascodebrasil.com

If you’re looking for something different from your typical American steakhouse, look no farther than Churrasco de Brasil. Churrasco is a unique type of cooking created by the Gauchos from south of Brazil, so it’s highly unlikely you’ll find an experience like this elsewhere in Tucson.

At Churrasco de Brasil, gaucho chefs come to your table with skewers of different types of meat including house specialties like Picanha, Filet Mignon, Ribeye, Fraldinha, Cordeiro, and more. There are also side dishes to complement the meat, as well as a large gourmet salad bar featuring over 30 items.

“Very different experience from other restaurants I've been at here in Tucson which is so nice. From the moment they greeted us to the moment we left we had great customer service. Overall, great experience but pricey! Highly recommend!” - Yelp Review

8. Jonathan’s Cork

A longtime Tuscan favorite for Southwestern food

6320 E Tanque Verde Rd | Tucson | jonathanscork.com

A longtime Tucson favorite, Jonathan’s Cork serves Buffalo, Ostrich, Fresh Fish, Seafood, Game Meats and selected Angus Beef with a Southwestern flair. The casual, comfortable Southwestern setting, accented with DeGrazia prints, Native American art, and 4 beehive fireplaces is the perfect atmosphere for a Southwestern meal.

Their menu features Burros, Tacos, Enchiladas, Tamales, and Tostadas as well as Steak, Chicken, Baby Back BBQ Pork Ribs, and Seafood. We recommend the Grub Steak Sirloin because it is the perfect blend of Arizona and Mexico as it’s mesquite grilled and stuffed with a whole green chile and cheese.

In addition to their dinner menu, they have a full-service bar, lunch specials, and a kids menu, and they serve breakfast with both Mexican and American breakfast selections daily.

“I was excited to finally dine in, I have always enjoyed this place. The food was delicious and fresh! I don't have much to say about this place other than the food was good and service was just as good!” - Yelp Review
