The nice thing about these canyons is that even though they are in the desert, we are lucky enough that they are littered with natural springs. And these springs are so abundant they manage to support several groves of California fan palms. And if you happen to be looking for the Palm Canyon Oasis, this is just the spot you are going to find it!

“Came here after the rainstorm this weekend. I believe we hiked the Murray Canyon Trail. If you hike to the top near the gate there is a little pool you can take a dip in. Definitely bring water shoes, water and try to do all your hikes in the morning before the weather heats up.” - Yelp Review

When you visit Whitewater Preserve the thing that is most striking, is that although you are in the desert, the most prominent feature of the preserve is the water itself. You won’t be able to believe something like this just happens to exist in the desert.

“Nice hike today.  Restrooms at the start of the trailhead.  Multiple choices on length and elevation gain, something for everyone.  If you enjoy desert vistas and canyons you will enjoy the preserve.” - Yelp Review
