With many different styles and cultures of cuisines, and a myriad of upscale atmospheres, the restaurants in Boston have more to offer than meets the eye. Although there are many options to choose from, in this article today we have compiled a list of some of the top rated French restaurants in the whole Boston area.

The list includes the restaurant's location, a Yelp review, a summary of the restaurant's style, and even a convenient link to the restaurant's website in case you want to order takeout or just want to preview the menu before you go in person. I’ve even included links where you can get a GiftYa E-Gift Card for each and every one of the participating restaurants.

You don’t need to worry when you’re in Boston looking for restaurants, stores, and attractions. You can check out GiftYa and search for gift cards by Boston and find everything they offer in Bostonin a Boston. Anytime you or they are in Boston looking for the bestfor best French restaurants.  Not only can you send and receive a GiftYa wireless, you can also keep track of the balance all right from your phone.,

Unlike a standard gift card where you have to write the balance on the back everytime you use it, a GiftYa keeps track for you on your phone all the time, And let’s be honest, isn’t it way more likely that you will be out at a restaurant with your phone than with your gift card? Your loved one is also much more likely to have their phone on them than a gift card if you are sending on e for a birthday or celebration to a younger relative., You can count on kids and college students to always have their phones on them, but can you really count on them to have a gift card you send them.

Not to mention their digital format makes GiftYa perfect anytime you want to send a gift card with a large sum to a loved one in Boston *wink wink.*. With a GiftYa there’s no writing multiple balances all over a card and hoping you can keep it organized. You also don’t have to worry about the card being lost or stolen with a GiftYa.

You can keep track of them all digitally. So you don’t even have to deliver them in person to know they got there in time. There’s no relying on the Postal Service and hoping they don’t lose it or delay it before your loved ones' big day or celebration. And I’m sure you’ve noticed more and more restaurants going with digital menus and options. Don’t be embarrassed at a modern 21st Century establishment by handing over a clunky plastic gift card when you can upgrade to a sleek digital format today.

Ma Maison

Top Recommended French Restaurant In Boston

https://www.instagram.com/p/CQKcAZUp_dg/

272 Cambridge St | Beacon Hill | mamaisonboston.com

Ma Maison comes to the top of the list today for a couple reasons. But I think the number one reason they made it to the top of the list is because they provide satisfying French cuisine in a casual dining sort of way. Which to me, makes them the most accessible restaurant on the list today, and I always want you, the reader, to have the most worry free experience you can if you follow one of my recommendations.

So whereas some of the other restaurants on this list are going to require a fancy dress code and a reservation well in advance, things aren’t quite as high strung at Ma Maison. In fact their goal is to provide satisfying French fare in a way that doesn’t break the bank. Not only are they not as high strung as some of the other restaurants on the list today, they aren’t so overpriced either.

But that’s not to say the restaurant isn’t nice. It certainly is. With classic warm wood accents, leather banquet and silver trays hung on the walls provide an upscale, yet intimate, dining experience that makes you feel more like a welcomed guest in someone’s home than just another customer at the table. And if that doesn’t help you feel right at home during your dining experience then I’m sure the boutique wine list and invigorating cocktail menu will help you find the repose and relaxation you are looking for during your meal.

Although they've only been open since 2015 Ma Maison has earned quite a reputation for itself with locals and travellers alike. And as such, they boast a four and a ha;lf star rating. So you can be sure that even though their food isn’t as overpriced as the other options on the menu, it by no means implies their food is of any lesser quality. In fact they are the highest reviewed restaurants by customers on the list today. And if you don’t trust my word for it, check out one of their hundreds of positive Yelp reviews.

“Finally a French restaurant that has revived classical "la bonne cuisine". Dishes that have deep complex flavors and texture. "Uncle Lucien's pate, Lobster Bisque with chunks of lobster you can actually find, Calves liver with perfectly caramelized onions, coq au vin, etc" Generous portions, friendly and knowledgeable French staff, happy atmosphere, and reasonable prices. Worth a detour to visit.” - Yelp Review

Ma Maison is one of the thousands of restaurants that accepts digital GiftYa gift cards but it is also among one of the highest rated best French restaurants in Boston!

Bar Lyon

Great French Place to Impress A Date in Boston

1750 Washington St | South End | barlyon.com

The City of Lyon in France has a long history of having some of the world’s best cuisine. In fact it has even been referred to as the “gastronomic capital of the world” and Bar Lyon takes this namesake very seriously. They strive to offer the best French cuisine anywhere in the city of Boston. And they are probably doing so in fact. The only thing that kept them from making it to the top of the list today was their accessibility.

They lean a bit more on the pricier side of the scale for today’s list. And also since they are a bit more upscale you will definitely want to make a reservation in advance if you want to go. And this makes them a little less accessible than Ma Maison. And since it is a more upscale establishment, I feel like it doesn’;t quite have the same accessibility solime families might be looking for. So that’s the only treason Bar Lyon didn’t take first of the list today.

However, if you do make that reservation then you are going to be treated to the best French meals you can find in Boston. Bar Lyon also happens to boast a four and a half star rating from their customers online. And if they had been open longer and ranked up more reviews they probably would have been number one. That being said, from the reviews that have been left you will find time and time again comments about how delicious the food is, but also how impeccable the service is. Fast, friendly, and knowledgeable are the words that describe the service at Bar lLyon

“I have to give 5 stars because the service was phenomenal. We came here slightly underdressed but were greeted with top notch service which continued throughout the night…. Overall: food ranged from okay to amazing, I would like to try other dishes in the future. service deserves more than 5 stars - so accommodating, understanding, and welcoming.” - Yelp Review

You can’t get a digital GiftYa gift card to Bar Lyon at the moment but be sure to check back soon as new best French restaurants and locations in Boston are added all the time!

Aquitaine

Premiere French Bistro in the South End of Boston.

569 Tremont St | South End | aquitaineboston.com

One of the great thingshings about Aquitaine is how many options they have available for seating. They have bar seating for dining, anand indoor dining room, and an outdoor patio as well. And forAnd is for this reason they make it to number three on youronour list today. To be honest when I go to write an article about French restaurants, I’m imagining that a majority of people are looking for a fancy French restaurant so they can impress their big date, or maybe their boss, or maybe even their future in-laws. I don’t really know, but I imagine you want to pick a French restaurant that provides an upscale atmosphere without stifling or interrupting the natural flow of conversation. And that is what brings Aquitaine to number three on the list today.

With all the different options for dining they are sure to have just the seat available for you whether you are trying to impress your date over at the bar, or are pulling out the chair for your future mother in law in the dining room or out on the patio, Aquitaine is going to provide the atmosphere you need. And not only are you going to be able to sit in a comfortable and accessible place, you can also expect top notch cuisine, and excellent customer service during your entire visit.

Aquitaine has been open for over 20 years and still manages to hold a four star rating with nearly 1000 reviews online. Which is impressively consistent. It is difficult to maintain a super high review rating like that for one year, let alone for twenty. And not only has Aquitaine been providing excellent food and customer service for 20 years, they have also been winning awards for their food and hospitality during that time.

Aquitaine has consistently been the premiere French bistro in the Southin South End, and I have no hesitation in recommending them to you. They have proven themselves to be consistently a step above the competition for over twenty years and I have no reason to believe they will stop anytime soon. Whether you read this tomorrow, or five years after I’ve written it, I am confident you won’t be disappointed in Aquitaine’s food or customer service.

“All aspects of this restaurants: the service, food and atmosphere were wonderful. The waitress was friendly and informed on the menu. Loved the escargot, especially the garlicky sauce with the toasted bread, and the new york strip steak frites ( Parisian ) was very very tasty.  Also got chocolate mousse and another dessert and both finished off the meal well, but the highlights were the escargots and steak.  The noise level was not overly loud. Highly recommended.” - Yelp Review

Mistral

Gracious. Sophisticated. Seductive

223 Columbus Ave | Back Bay | mistralbistro.com

Mistral is another restaurant that has stood both the test of time, as well as, the anhedonic onslaught of the internet's general population. They also boast a 4 star rating with nearly 1000 reviews. However, the only thing that drops them down the list today is because from my general impression, this is going to be the fanciest, or most upscale, restaurant of the list today. And as such, I expect some members of those reading will want to find somewhere a bit more low key, and less expensive as well. However, if this is a big day, a graduation, an anniversary, or a big celebration of any kind, you can’t really go wrong if you want to spend the money for a night at Minstral.

They’ve been around since 1997 and in that time they have built quite the reputation for themselves as being one of the best French restaurants in all of Boston. They serve an uncomplicated cuisine that is a hybrid of classic French dishes and classic Mediterranean style dishes. And the restaurant decor is set to match the meals. With high luxurious ceilings, and arched windows that stand from the high ceiling all the way down to the floor, everything about Mistrals is designed to impress. The ambiance, the food, the service. Everything is designed to leave you thinking one thing. Wow!

“Really beautiful dinner setting and amazing service! Came here for someone's birthday dinner and enjoyed the whole experience thoroughly. What really stood out was just how kind everyone who worked their was-- they were attentive and great. The food was also yummy...Though honestly, it was less of the food that stood out to me but rather more of the overall ambiance, vibe, and service that made everything really great. This is definitely less of a casual dinner place, and I'd definitely recommend checking this place out if you want to enjoy a nice meal.” - Yelp Review

Mistral is one of the best French restaurants in Boston and they accept GiftYa digital gift cards and you can grab one for you or someone on your list by following the link!

Bistro du Midi

French Cuisine Inspired By Coastal New England

272 Boylston St | Back Bay | bistrodumidi.com

Bistro du Midi makes it on our list today for a few reasons, but the biggest reason of them all is because of the location of the restaurant and the view you get when you dine there because of that location. Bistro du Midi is located overlooking the picturesque Boston Public Garden. So while the other restaurants on our list offer fantastic food, great service, and a fantastic ambiance, Bistro du Midi is really the only one that offers a view like this. I mean, they also have fantastic food and excellent customer service like the other restaurants on the list today. But to me, if you are really trying to impress somebody, you can never go wrong with a great view.

“It's a great place for brunch and when the weather is nice, it's so nice to sit outside and enjoy the park across the street. The food was very good.” - Yelp Review
