Located near Johns Hopkins University, this Baltimore restaurant serves authentic Indian cuisine. Although some dishes that may come to mind are Chili Paneer, Butter Chicken, and Tandoori Chicken, their menu includes a variety of vegan Indian dishes.
In fact, they have a separate menu devoted to their vegan and vegetarian entrees. Some of their featured vegan entrees are Dal Sakoon Takda (yellow lentils, ginger, garlic, and tomatoes), Chana Masala (chickpeas cooked with onion, tomato, and spices), and Saag Aloo Chana (chickpeas, spinach, potatoes, and ginger).

Zaatar Mediterranean Cuisine is a beloved local Mediterranean restaurant. They offer a handful of vegan dishes including Falafel (ground chickpeas with tahini), Veggie Kabob (mixed seasonal char-grilled vegetables served with hummus and ali baba bread), and Mujadara (rice and lentils served with caramelized onions). Their hummus is of course also vegan, and just look at that fresh, oily hummus in the picture! It looks to die for!
The restaurant is also BYOB with a $3 corkage fee, and a liquor store is right down the street. Make a night of it and go to Zaatar Mediterranean Cuisine with a bottle of wine and a few friends!

If you want to veganize any of their regular menu items, order noodles like Pad Thai and Pad See Ew with tofu and no eggs or curries with tofu.

They offer small bites like taquitos, potstickers, and tots, sandwiches, burritos, salads, and more. They even serve vegan biscuits with apple butter or jam, gravy, or spicy or sweet mock chicken. Our favorite item might be the Don’t Have a Cow Beyond Burger, a Beyond Burger patty with green goddess dressing topped with greens, tomato, onion, and pickles and served on a potato roll.
Other highlights include their fun cocktails and tot bucket—yes, you heard that right. Their signature cocktails include the One More Cup of Coffee Redeye (Belle Isle Cold Brew vodka, Aztec Chocolate Bitters, and iced coffee) and the Just a Friend Crush (Belle Isle Grapefruit vodka in lemon-lime cane sugar soda, accented with old fashioned bitters and topped with San Pellegrino Blood Orange Soda). While their bucket of tots is enough to share with a group for only $8.

If you’re looking for an upscale vegan option, check out Double Zero, a plant-based pizza concept brought to you by renowned chef Mattew Kenney. All of their pizzas are vegan, made with cashew mozzarella, macadamia ricotta, almond parmesan, rice mozzarella, or cashew cream.
Our favorite, hands down, is the Bianca. This pie is made with macadamia ricotta, cashew mozzarella, almond parmesan, rice mozzarella, pepperoncini, rapini, and plant yolk. They also offer gluten-free crust!
Some of their non-pizza items include Sunflower Caesar Salad, Cacio e Pepe, and Eggplant Parmesan.
They also serve vegan desserts such as Chocolate Budino, Tiramisu, and Casse-Cou Chocolate Flight.
