1 - Temple Square

Since you are already in Utah you might as well soak up some of the culture right? And in this case that culture happens to be mostly about Mormonism and the Mormon Church. However, even if you aren’t the religious type the Temple Square is still well worth your visit when you are in Salt Lake due to the incredible architecture and majestic gardens. It truly is a place of serenity and calm. And if you need some space to clear your head, want to soak in some beauty, or just want a quiet afternoon then you can’t go wrong with a stop in at Temple Square. 2 - Fisher Brewing

A Living Piece of Utah’s History

Fisher Brewing has been around since 1884 and is one of the very first breweries in the whole state of Utah. So not only is it a great place to get a masterfully made craft beer, it’s also a historical landmark in its own right. So you can kind of accomplish two things on your Salt Lake City bucket list at the same time. You can enjoy some of the great local culture by enjoying a locally crafted beer, and you’ll also get to see a piece of Utah’s history.

3 - Utah State Capitol

If you went all the way to Salt Lake City while you are in Utah then you might as well make a quick stop over at the capitol building. If you are already in the state’s capitol, why not check out the Capitol Building. The building itself is absolutely breathtaking. 4 - Clark Planetarium

So Popular That It Hosts Over 300,000 Visitors Every Year

The Clark Planetarium was first established in 1965 and it serves as Utah’s premier astronomy learning museum. And as one of the state’s leading museums, the Planetarium has a mission to inspire and engage their visitors with tons of opportunities to explore all kinds of astronomy and STEM exhibits. The nicest part of all of it is that it is always free and open to the public. And it’s open 354 days of the year so you can pretty much go visit whenever is convenient for you and not have to worry about not being able to see everything.

5 - Natural History Museum of Utah

You Can Learn What Makes Utah’s Natural Landscape So Remarkable!

The Natural History Museum of Utah has a lot of great stuff to see in just one place. The top attraction provides guests with an introduction to the science that is on display in Utah’s unique geographical makeup. The museum has tons of other engaging exhibits as well and over 5,000 artifacts on display, including the major paleontology discoveries in Utah, incredible gems and minerals that have been collected from all over the world, and an impressive collection of artifacts from the prehistoric people who lived in Utah. You can see exhibits on everything from dinosaurs to rare gems so you can really get a whole day's worth of enjoyment out of a stop at the Natural History Museum of Utah!

“I came here last week when I visited Salt Lake City for a week. This was an awesome museum. The orca exhibit was my favorite part of the museum. I love everything that deals with the ocean. The price to enter the museum was a decent price (about $23 a person). You can easily spend four plus hours in this museum. Customer service was great. 6 - Downtown Farmers Market

If you are looking for a nice leisurely afternoon out in the fresh Utah air then I think a trip to the downtown farmers market could be just the thing you are looking for. You’ll be able to get out, get some fresh air, stretch your legs, and shop for some healthy vegetables and goods while you leisurely stroll around. I think this is a great option for a thing to do in Salt Lake City when you are really trying to have a low key day.

7 - Dreamscapes

8 - The Real UP House

A Private Residence, But One Well Worth Driving By

If you are any sort of fan of the Pixar film Up, then you should definitely drive by the real world recreation this couple made for their actual residence. Now be aware it is literally their private residence and they don’t mind people enjoying their home, but don’t be obnoxious and bother them. But if you’re reasonable and polite there should be no reason you can’t enjoy going to see this one of a kind house.

9 - Great Salt Lake State Park

Since you are in Salt Lake City and everything, you might as well take the time to see the actual Salt Lake. And the easiest way to do that is just by heading over to the Great Salt Lake State Park because you can take full advantage of the park to get the most enjoyment out of seeing the lake.

If you are looking for the cliched western honky tonk kind of bar with plenty of line dancing, cowboy hats, and beer that just keeps flowing than look no further than Westerner Dance Hall the next time you are in Salt Lake City
