If you are looking for a top rated restaurants in El Paso Texas then you’ll want to be sure to check out one of El Paso’s fine upscale and high end restaurants and eating establishments. With many different styles and cultures of cuisines, and a myriad of upscale atmospheres, the restaurants in El Paso have more to offer than meets the eye.
El Paso is the sixth largest city in all of Texas. Putting it around the 23rd largest city in all of the United States. And as such, there are almost countless options to choose from in a city of this caliber in the 21st Century. Although there are many options to choose from, in this article today I’ll compile a list of the top five rated restaurants in the whole El Paso area.
The list includes the restaurant's location, a Yelp review, a summary of the restaurant's style, and even a convenient link to the restaurant's website in case you want to order takeout. Or just want to preview their menu choices before you go in person. I’ll even include links when you can get a GiftYa E-Gift Card for each of the participating restaurants.
And just like with all the posts here on GiftYa I personally feel compelled to remind you that a GiftYa is a digital gift card that can be sent within seconds right from your phone. These gift cards can be used at a variety of locations but are particularly popular for restaurants. This is especially true if you are out traveling and don’t love to carry cash around with you.
Instead you can just carry your gift cards right on your phone that you take with you everywhere already. You don’t even have to worry about keeping track of the gift cards and the balances because your phone does all of that for you. There really isn’t a more convenient option when it comes to buying gift cards and gifts for yourself or others.
1422 Airway Blvd | El Paso | el-taquito-9831.food96.com
El Taquito comes in at number one on our list today for one very obvious and simple reason. The overwhelming number of 5 star reviews that have been left by locals and travellers alike. They have an even five star rating on Yelp! With over 300 reviews! I write a lot of articles about a lot of different restaurants. And I’ve even seen restaurants with 2000 reviews maintain a four and a half star rating. And I’ve even seen restaurants have a five star rating with 90ish reviews. However, I’ve never seen a restaurant boast reviews in the hundreds and still maintain a solid five star rating!
El Taquito is obviously going to be serving Mexican food. And since you are in El Paso, you are really only a couple minutes from the Mexican border itself! So you can be sure that when you find a restaurant serving Mexican food in El Paso that they are going to be serving some of the most authentic Mexican food anywhere in the state. And anywhere in the entire country for that matter!
So not only can you count on El Taquito serving some of the most authentic Mexican food in all of the United States, you can also feel good supporting a locally owned business. And trust me, you won’t regret spending your dollar and supporting local businesses and local families when you stop at El Taquito. Go ahead and give El Taquito a try next time you are looking for the top rated restaurants in El Paso. You won’t leave disappointed. Nobody else has.
“Best Mexican food in El Paso! You will get a bang for your buck here. The service is amazing, and all of the menu items are relatively cheap! Really good chicken and carne asada. You can't go wrong with anything!” - Yelp Review
El Taquito is one of the thousands of restaurants that accepts digital GiftYa gift cards but it is also among one of the highest rated top rated restaurants in El Paso!
3622 E Missouri Ave | El Paso | ljcafe.com
Honestly, I was highly tempted to put L&J Cafe at number one on the list today. They boast a four and a half star rating with nearly 2000 reviews. Which means they are thoroughly above people's expectations time after time. However, I felt that the fact that El Taquito had a perfect five star rating should bump them up to first place over L&J.
L&J is pretty much a staple of El Paso. First established in 1927, the restaurant has passed hands, but has stood at the same location for generations. And it’s typical for most restaurants to fail in their first year of being open. So it is absolutely astounding for a restaurant to have been open for nearly 100 years. I mean it’s practically unheard of.
And on top of that, if they opened in 1927, it means they spend the majority of their first 20 years being open, trying to survive the great depression. If their food was great enough to withstand the greatest economic collapse in the nation's history I’m sure they have something that can please even the pickiest eater.
And as such the current owners take the legacy of the restaurant very seriously. You can expect some of the best dining that El Paso has to offer. L&J Cafe have been proving themselves to be above and beyond expectations for nearly 100 years. I’m sure you will enjoy any time you spend eating there. It’s rare I get to feel this confidence in recommending a restaurant, but you clearly can’t go wrong in El Paso if you stop at L&J Cafe.
“Best Mexican food/ food I have ever had! I'm a boring eater (just a meet and cheese kind of guy) I hardly ever order dessert but I did at L&J and it was delicious. The price was great as well.” - Yelp Review

Nope I didn’t spell that wrong. It is indeed The Hoppy Monk, not The Happy Monk. And the reason it's called the hoppy monk is because beer is brewed with hops. So you can expect not only great food when you stop at The Hoppy Monk, you can also expect to get some fantastic beers and brews. I always like to make sure I recommend at least one place that is going to offer some great drink options as well as food options when I make these lists of the best restaurants in an area. And the Hoppy Monk just so happens to let me do that.
However, all of my personal bias aside, The Hoppy Monk boasts a four and a half star rating with nearly 600 reviews. Which is very consistent and puts them on the higher end of what you can expect to see from restaurants that are reviewed by the online community,
“Excellent beer selection no matter your taste (unless you're into bud light, they make it a point to support independently owned breweries which is awesome). Nice patio area to sit outside if you'd like, but vibey tavern feel on the inside. Try it out” - Yelp Review

West Texas Chophouse is pretty much exactly what you would expect it to be. It’s a steak joint. And when you are in Texas it’s really gonna be hard to find a streak restaurant that isn’t good. However, West Texas Chophouse stands out above the crowd and boasts a solid 4 star rating with over 400 reviews. Which is excellent in my opinion. I’m sure when travellers stop in for a steak in El Paso, Texas they have their expectations through the roof and West Texas Chophouse is obviously meeting all of those sky high expectations.
“Menu has plenty of delicious options to choose from. Yes, the price may be steep but, you're also getting what you pay for. All in all, customer service is on that same bench they're providing. My experiences at this restaurant have been all positive so far.” - Yelp Review

Park Tavern comes in at the bottom of our list of the top five highest rated restaurants in El Paso Texas. However, being at the bottom of a list about the five best restaurants means that Park Tavern is still one of the top five best restaurants in all of El Paso.
They’ve only been around since 2017, but in that time they have built quite the reputation for themselves as delivering consistent high quality food. Particularly they serve what they refer to as “new American” style cuisine. Which basically means you can expect all the classic American dishes with a modern influence or interpretation to create a lively new dish.
“Park Tavern is a wonderful place to stop for a meal or a quick bite AND it's open in the afternoon! The chef puts the effort into each and every order so that every plate looks (and tastes) special - highly recommended!!” - Yelp Review
Park Tavern is one of the best top rated restaurants in El Paso and they accept GiftYa digital gift cards and you can grab one for you or someone on your list by following the link!

But hey, you do you, and get a steak or a burger if that’s what you are in the mood for.
