If you’re curious about trying some new wines, consider stopping into the Allegheny Wine Mixer. This place is full of all the best vintages from wineries across the country-- as well as some regional Pennsylvania wines. Located in the busy neighborhood of Lawrenceville, this little spot is very popular and is usually pretty crowded.

If you have questions about any of the flavors or grapes, the knowledgeable staff can answer all your questions with confidence. Stop by and try a glass or two of any of the wide selection available on their menu, and make sure to try it with some of their amazing cheeses.

The Steelhead Brasserie and Wine Bar is attached to the Marriott City Center and located in downtown Pittsburgh. This spot is very popular with the after-work crowd who are looking for a relaxing place to unwind.

It’s easy to get to and located right in the heart of all the hustle and bustle of town. You can leave all that behind though the moment you step inside the lounge. The wine here is known to be excellent-- and there is always something new to try as well.

The Pittsburgh Winery has been doing so well in its Strip District location that it has plans to renovate to make more room for wine making! This spot even has its own wine club-- which you’ll definitely want to sign up for. You pick out the wines you’d like to try, then they are delivered right to your door. Engine House 25 Wine Tasting Room makes their own wine right on site in their Lawrenceville location. By taking grapes from all over the world-- including California, Chile, and South Africa-- the wine makers here ferment them in oak barrels with very little else added. This helps the natural flavors shine through.

Feel free to stop by and try some wines out-- there is always some available to help you through this process if you’re not too familiar with the different types of wine available. If you find something you like, make sure to take a bottle home with you!

Courtyard Winery is another fantastic place in the Strip District to taste and try a variety of wines. This winery is located in North East, PA and since 2010 has been producing some delicious wines that are sold all over the state. The soil along the shores of Lake Erie is very good for growing grapes-- and the owners wanted to take advantage of this and bring a vineyard and a wine bottling business to this area.

Now their wines are available in many locations within Pennsylvania-- including a couple of locations in Pittsburgh. Stop into the store in the Strip District and see what has been growing in North East-- you’re sure to find a wine you love.

A very popular Italian place, Senti Restaurant is also known throughout Pittsburgh as a stand out wine bar. It has selections carefully chosen from around the world that compliment the flavors of Italy.

Senti is located in Lawrenceville, and it is usually packed with locals eager to try some of the chef’s specialties and some tasty wine. This place is the only restaurant in Pittsburgh that has a state-of-the-art automatic wine dispenser. This allows servers-- or customers with pre-paid cards-- to dispense the wine at their leisure. It truly adds to the wonderful, relaxed ambiance of this wine bar.

The Capital Grille is a great option if you’re looking for a delicious steak that comes with exceptional service. The dining room is well decorated and the tables are always covered in crisp, white linen. Located in downtown Pittsburgh, they are open for both lunch and dinner. Their wine list is very extensive-- and you can order by the glass or by the bottle-- depending on what your needs are.

They have many dark red wines that pair well with their famous steaks-- but there is also a great selection of whites and blushes for chicken or seafood entree options. After dinner be sure to finish the evening off with a port-- or perhaps another selection suggested by your server.
