1910 Elm St.

Over-the-Rhine District

Since 2013, Rhinegeist Brewery has served high-quality beer and cider to the city of Cincinnati. Its 25,000 square foot, active brewing facility resides in the historic Over-the-Rhine neighborhood. The brewery shares a rich history, as it inhabits the former bottling plant for Christian Moerlein Brewing Co., a famous beermaker that was active before the Prohibition era.

The brewery is divided into two areas: the taproom and the rooftop. Guests are welcome to grab a beer and play one of the many taproom games provided. Cheetah, Little Bubs, Bubbles, and Wowie are just a few beer options offered in the taproom. Swizzle and Semi-Dry ciders are also sold here. Feeling hungry? Stop by Findlay Market to pick up a quick meal to enjoy with your drink. Because the taproom tends to fill up quickly, we recommend making a reservation before going. On nice days, the brewery opens up the rooftop bar. Cocktails and wine are offered up here. No food is allowed up there, however.

Rhinegeist also hosts regular events, including trivia nights and fundraisers on Wednesdays. The brewery also hosts one-off events, such as food cook offs and film nights. Check out the Rhinegeist website for a full schedule of upcoming events.

A variety of tour options are available for visitors. For an immersive, 90 minute tour of the Rhinegeist facility as well as a complimentary beer tasting, we recommend signing up for the VIP Tasting Tour. Specialty Tasting Tours are also available for visitors looking for a comprehensive beer tasting. Each tour focuses on a specific beer style, such as hoppy brews or Belgian beers. History buffs will be especially impressed by the Historical Tour, which focuses on the history of the Rhinegeist Brewery. Both private and public tours are also available.

“We always have to stop at Rhinegeist when in the area. Truly one of the best breweries. The beer is consistently awesome, as is the service.” - Yelp review

38 W McMicken Ave.

Cincinnati, OH

Housed in a historic 1900’s warehouse in the northern area of Over the Rhine, The Skeleton Room offers a unique experience for wine lovers. Before becoming a winery, the building housed a stamping company and a sign manufacturer.

The Skeleton Room prides itself on its focus toward revitalizing the local grape growing region. The winery mainly works with obscure American heritage grapes. All of their wines are dry-focused and heavily-inspired by the heritage of the local region. They are also made on-site and are vegan-friendly.

Since it is a small winery, the wine selections change frequently. Tasting flights are available for all wine selections. Shareable light bite foods are also provided. Their homemade pie, regional meats and cheese, and vegetarian snacks all go great with the wine!

The winery occasionally hosts private events, so make sure you check their Instagram and Facebook pages for their current schedule of events.
