Pittsburgh has some great waterparks to choose from-- whether you’re just looking to cool down and get your feet wet, or go all out on some waterslides-- there’s sure to be one to suit your mood.

Sandcastle is the number one spot for Pittsburghers when they’re looking to cool down-- and have some fun as well!

Have fun on the slides, chill out in the Lazy River, or take a dip at the Wave Pool. There's even a part of the park dedicated to kids; so it's fun for the whole family. - Yelp Review

You can dodge waves at the wave pool, relax in the lazy river, and even catch some sun on their decks.

But what everyone really comes for are the awesome water slides. With everything from a nice a relaxed pace to lightning fast, you’re sure to have a blast riding on these all day. If you’re feeling brave, try the huge 60 foot high Lightning Express-- you can reach speeds of up to 25 miles per hour!

When you’re done sliding, head over to the Waterfront for a bite to eat or catch a movie.

North Shore Riverfront Park is located between PNC Park and Heinz Field, and is always teeming with people on hot summer days.

My favorite part would have to be the water steps that are located not too far from PNC Park. They're a perfect way to cool off on a hot day! - Yelp Review

When the heat gets to be too much, cool off in the water steps-- perfect for putting your feet in! It’s an interesting display of water landscaping, and the steps start narrow at the top and widen as they go towards the river.

This place is also a great place to catch some spectacular panoramas of the city of Pittsburgh. Be sure to try it out after the sun goes down as well!

Just a little drive north of the city, Cranberry Waterpark is a great place to cool off and have some fun in the sun.

One of the best community pools in the area. It's clean, they have free chairs, the pool is big and it's usually the perfect temperature; not too hot, but not too cold! - Yelp Review

Not only is this spot popular for sunbathers, it is also a great place to have a party-- either in the pool or on the rentable sundeck.

Complete with a concession stand for lunch, it’s an easy place to spend a nice summer afternoon. This spot is also open to residents and non-residents, and offers a wide variety of aquatics classes and swimming lessons.

Have fun on the roller coasters of Idlewild Park-- located just a short drive from Pittsburgh-- and then cool down afterwards in the Soakzone waterpark.

Your kids will love taking a trip through Storybook Forest and meeting their favorite fairytale characters and then cooling off and having some fun in the wave pool. There are all kinds of fun water activities as well, including the Tipping Bucket and the Pipeline Plunge Waterslide. This is a one-stop place for a great summer day!

That’s why the Pittsburgh Citiparks decided to create Spray Parks-- and distribute them throughout the city. With locations in Arlington, East Hills, Shadyside, Troy Hill, Paulson, and Burgwin-- as well as Beechview-- these areas are a great way to get a quick cool down.

Beechview Spray Park is always packed in the summer, and kids love playing with the water shoots. Adults also appreciate a quick cool down too, and can easily get their feet wet on a hot summer day.

Dormont Pool is one of the largest pools in the state of Pennsylvania-- and one of the best places to cool down on a hot day.

Located in the southern suburb of Dormont, Pittsburghers love that the pool never feels too crowded-- it’s perfect for those looking to swim laps, ride the slide, or get some sun on their raft.

The waterslide is always busy, especially in July and August. There’s an area for kids too, complete with waterfalls and a waterslide.

People drive from all over the city to come to this pool, and it’s easy to see why!

If you’re feeling brave, see if you can take the plunge off their platform high dives. Don’t worry, not many people can!  Or, try taking a jump off the spring high, medium, or low dives and see how high you can spring! There’s even a viewing glass so your friends can see you hit the water.

It really is a great way to spend a hot, summer afternoon in Pittsburgh.

Another county wave pool in the other end of the city is the South Park Wave Pool.

This is located in South Park, and just minutes from a great shopping and dining district. Pittsburghers definitely love their wave pools-- it is a staple at most of our waterparks-- and this one is no different. You can easily spend the day in this quiet area.

The admission is very reasonable, so you can be sure to visit lots of times over the summer.
