10 S Lewis Ave | Tulsa | circlecinema.org

A great way to spend a weekend night with friends is at the cinema and Circle Cinema is Tulsa's historic movie theater. The outside of the building has a historic-looking marquee and a neon sign that gives it a retro vibe. Even though the cinema is old, all the amenities are current. They offer snacks and drinks and their movie theater has comfortable chairs for each person to sit in.

Circle Cinema opened in 1928 and is the oldest standing movie theater in Tulsa and the only nonprofit cinema in the area. Not only do they celebrate films, but they also celebrate art and have a small art gallery that you can peruse. At Circle Cinema, they often show independent, foreign, documentary, classic, crossover, and more unique films. They even show live theater and silent films with musical accompaniment. Also, they often have events including guest speakers and audience discussions.

Check to see what's playing at Circle Cinema and consider stopping by with your friends. You might even luck out and find a unique event being hosted there. You'll have an unforgettable experience in this historic theater.

"I absolutely love Circle Cinema. Not only is it an amazing 90 year old institution but the team is wonderful, welcoming & kind--not common in any theatres. There is always something to see & someone to see which I love. The Kendall-Whittier District is booming & Circle Cinema is at the heart of it all. Make a day of it & enjoy a unique Tulsa experience." - Yelp Review

211 S Elgin Ave | Tulsa | dustbowllounge.com

Established in 2011, Dust Bowl Lounge is Tulsa's first and only downtown bowling alley and bar. It's a great place to kick back with some friends and enjoy a drink while bowling. You can't miss the vibrant green building, and the interior is just as lively with exposed brick, retro decor, and projectors displaying sports.

Dust Bowl Lounge is located in the heart of downtown in the Blue Dome district. The venue itself is inspired by bowling alleys and lounges of the 1970s and it shows! From the colors to the furniture to the decor, everything screams retro. Because of the full bar, it's important to note that only people 21 and older can come after 8:00 p.m.

Not only can you plan a party and book one of their VIPs areas, but you can also drop by with some friends on a whim. Though we recommend reserving a lane in advance online! They also offer a menu of delightful American classics from onion rings to burgers to hot dogs. Bowling and junk food - sounds perfect!

"Such a fun place! Had a great party in the private room, enjoyed our wait staff as much as the drinks and the food. They were fun and added to the experience and also had fun drink suggestions and were VERY attentive." - Yelp Review

110 E 2nd St | Tulsa | tulsapac.com

The Tulsa Performing Arts Center or PAC is the place to go to see an incredible show. They host a huge variety of shows from short plays to grand musicals. They have four main theaters, a studio space, and an art gallery. Inside the center itself, you'll find some unique art and structures. The building has a really nice layout so it's easy to find where you need to go, but you can always stop and ask the team members if you need help.

The PAC opened in 1977 and the first concert took place that year featuring the Tulsa Philharmonic and the famous jazz singer Ella Fitzgerald. Locals loved visiting the PAC to watch memorable shows. As time went on, the PAC began to deliver local, national, and international programming. Today, you'll find concerts, children’s shows, ballets, Broadway tours, local theater, symphonies, operas, and so much more.

The PAC always has a ton going on every weekend. Browse their event calendar to find something you and your friends would love to see. Put on some fancy clothes and enjoy a night at the theater!

"I love my PAC!! I love all performing arts and try to get culture whenever I can. The Tulsa PAC does a great job keeping an active list of performances! On this most recent visit I came for a smaller show in the Chapman Music Hall and thoroughly enjoyed my time! The hall is small and gives the feel of being up close and personal with the actors (we saw The Last Days of Judas Iscariot). The play was well put together and had an air of experience and talent from everyone involved. I was super impressed, especially for a smaller show in the downsized venue. Thank you for the wonderful experience TPAC! I'll be back!!" - Yelp Review

Maybe barhopping or just hanging out and enjoying a drink is right up your alley. For these nights, we recommend Valkyrie Bar. This bar is a chill hangout spot with shelves holding hundreds of liquors. The inside is comfortable with an almost romantic feel to it. The brick wall, the warm lights, and the dark furniture make this an ideal spot for the weekend.

Valkyrie is located in downtown Tulsa in the Tulsa Arts District. Their motto is "playfully serving serious drinks." Based on that, it comes as no surprise that this place is bursting with personality and their bartenders are nothing short of incredible crafting cocktails with precision and perfection. Their menu is always changing and you'll find that they offer classic cocktails and drinks to inventive cocktails.

Stop by with your friends and peruse the menu. You'll find cocktails, draft beer from around the world, and boutique wines. Enjoy a fun-filled and laid-back evening with your friends at Valkyrie.

If you and your friends are fans of stand-up comedy, then the Loony Bin is the perfect place for you to go. You'll find stand-up comedy and other events almost every night. The Loony Bin delivers on fun and good laughs.

The Loony Bin has been a part of Tulsa since 2007 and Tulsa loves this live stand-up comedy club. They bring in local comedians and comedians from across the nation. Whether you're wanting to come here for a party or you just want to stop by with some friends, the Looney Bin is a great place to go. Every week they bring in new comics so anytime you come you'll have a new experience.

For the food, they offer all the junk food you would need like popcorn, mozzarella sticks, and nachos. We recommend trying to eat and drink between the jokes otherwise there may be a soda out of the nose situation. Wouldn't that be funny?

5002 S Memorial Dr | Tulsa | tulsamagoos.com

Magoo's is a really interesting place that combines a pool hall with an arcade with a full-service bar. So you get a little bit of everything here. If you want to sit up at the bar and enjoy a cold beer while watching sports with your friends, you can do that. If you want to beat one of your friends at arcade games, you can do that. That's what makes Magoo so great especially when you're with a group of friends.

Magoo's was established in 1994 and quickly became Tulsa's busiest pool hall. Today, locals still enjoy coming here with friends to have a good time and play some pool. They've expanded the pool hall into something a little bit more by adding food and drinks, a sports bar, and other arcade-type games. You won't get bored with all of the amenities they have to offer.

So stop by and shoot some pool with your friends or play a game of foosball. Enjoy some dinner with some friends and enjoy playing games at Magoo's.

"This place is a family favorite for my family. We go whenever my dad comes in town. We've gone so many times I've lost count over the years. Good chill spot. Now, smoke free environment. Billiards with drinks and food options. Juke box and live music (depending on the day). Overall nothing bad to say about this place." - Yelp Review
